Styling Fall’s Best Denim.

Styling Fall's Best Denim
sweater, jeans, flats

It’s time for another styling post! Today, we are taking four of fall’s key styles (barrel jeans, brown denim, cream denim, dramatic wide leg) and showing you how to wear them. As always, this is not about buying a ton of new stuff! Take the wide-leg jeans, for example. We all probably have a fitted cardigan we could swap in. Or barrel jeans: everyone’s got some stripes!!

I hope this is helpful… for more recent styling inspiration, check out how we are wearing fall’s best tops!

PS – this post has a big roundup of Carly + my favorite denim styles!

Barrel Jeans

Barrel jeans to me feel the easiest of all of fall’s key denim. I am not talking about a dramatic horseshoe (I still find those tricky!), but a subtle barrel? Easy to do! Here, we styled them with easy stripes, my favorite tennis necklace, and classic black accessories.

Brown Denim

ICYMI, chocolate brown is having a moment this fall! Just refer back to our chocolate brown edit if you need any reminding. I bought these brown jeans and have been shocked by how often I reach for them (they are also great with sweaters and/or chambray). I love the idea of going head-to-toe brown with little pops of cream peeking out. Also: these penny loafers are wildly comfortable. Like wearing slippers.

PS – in the look above, I swapped in my Alex Mill jacket and a Kule tee.

Cream Denim - Styling Fall's Best Denim

Cream Denim

Cream-colored denim isn’t just for spring and summer; I wear mine year ’round! This pair from Madewell is a longtime favorite. The fit is so easy; the leg is wide but not too wide! I love cream and navy together, with pops of black to add a little bit of polish/formality.

Wide Leg

I am just dipping my toe in the water with wide-leg denim and have found that Madewell is a great place to start. These are fantastic and a great price. I really love cuffing my wide-leg denim and adding an almond-toe ballet flat. With all that volume, keep things simple with a fitted cardigan. The chartreuse bag adds a pop of fun (but isn’t mandatory—I just really like chartreuse!).

I bought the Madewell wide legs with the cuff and they are so so good! Great length, love the cuff is sewn up, and I like the fitted cardigan suggestion. I’ll try that next casual day at work

Ohhhhh I love this post so much! I will be recreating each one of these looks. I love how none of them feel too complicated or overly fussy. I’m especially excited about the brown and cream pairing!
