It is no secret that I am a big fan of a margarita. They are refreshing, delicious… just fun. When you start the night with a margarita, you know it’s going to be a good night. I have a lot of margarita recipes here on my site and on reels. If you like frozen, try my watermelon margarita recipe. If you want something more creamy and decadent, try this coconut margarita recipe. Two other favorites? This hibiscus margarita and this passionfruit margarita (brings me back to vacationing in Tulum!). But this easy pomegranate margarita is definitely a favorite.
Pomegranate and lime play really, really well together. Adding pomegranate adds an interesting seasonal twist. The bright red color is also a vibrant addition to any spread. Also, it’s easy. I prefer to make my margaritas “skinny,” meaning I skip margarita mix in favor of fresh lime juice and agave. Feel free to use margarita mix (in that case skip the lime juice and agave) but I think this tastes a lot better! My recipe is below… I hope you love it as much as I do (and if you make it, please – tag me on stories!).
pomegranate margarita recipe
I love a pomegranate margarita. I was making them this weekend and even though I’ve already posted a reel with my cocktail recipe, I thought I would post it here. Margaritas are one of my favorite cocktails (right up there with a dirty martini or a negroni!) but they can feel a little summery. Pomegranate is a fun twist on the classic margarita. It’s a little more fall.. festive, even!
pomegranate margarita ingredients
- 2 oz. Tequila (I like to use a silver tequila and love La Gritona!)
- 2 oz. Fresh Pomegranate Juice
- 1 oz. Lime Juice
- 3/4 oz. Triple Sec
- Agave (a big squeeze, and then some to rim your glass). Note: simple syrup will also work.
- Red Clay Spicy Margarita Salts (Use code GRACE20 for 20% off!)
- Lime wedge to garnish!
how to make a pomegranate margarita
Step 1
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes! Easy enough. 🙂
Step 2
Add in all of your ingredients (above) and let them chill for a bit.
Step 3
While your marg is chilling, salt the rims! I like to rim my glass with agave, and then take a small plate, dump in some margarita salts and roll the rim of the glass to get the perfect rim. Once you have done this, fill your glass with ice.
Step 4
Shake it up!!!!!
Step 5
Pour the drink into a margarita glass (or other cocktail glass of your choice) and serve. Garnish with a lime wedge and/or or fresh pomegranate seeds if you’d like!
