I have always had a thirst for discovery—finding unique, interesting things that not everyone has—whether that is a handbag designer that’s still under the radar, a perfume no one else knows about, or something special for my dinner table. In the spirit of that, Pinned & Noted is a column where I will share the new-to-me discoveries, books I’ve pre-ordered, and (hopefully) under-the-radar gems. You can view the first five here, here, here, here, and here.
Pinned & Noted, Vol.6
This installment is a very colorful (and slightly random) one! First of all, tomato water. I had the best cocktail of my life here in Charleston at Sorelle: Sipland’s tomato water martini. It’s N/A, but you can order it with gin or vodka. Truly, a delicious cocktail. So now of course, I want to figure out how to make it at home.
On the reading front, I pre-ordered Liz Lidgett’s new book (Liz’s gallery is a favorite and she is a wealth of information about all things art), and am super excited to dive into Sarah Pekkanen’s latest.
It’s way too early to think about coats (at least in Charleston), but this coat from Sea is high on my wish list, and I love that this barn jacket has a bit of a waist. Out of everything I’ve seen for Fall so far, Ulla Johnson’s newest is my favorite. The lace top I featured here is gorgeous, this embellished sweater tee, and this lace blouse. I want everything. Oh, and on a more practical note, I finally got prescription sunglasses. Cute but also, life-changing! When I go walking, I’ll actually recognize my friends. Ahhh, old age.
On the beauty front, Soft Services (genius!) made a gentler version of their buffing bar, and it smells like a citrus affogato (espresso, vanilla, orange). I love the original, but this is better for everyday! It leaves skin super silky and smooth. The other new beauty launch I’m loving is Necessaire’s new Rosemary scalp serum. It smells so good and feels wonderful on the scalp. And, it promotes hair growth. And of course, this black lip balm, which I’ve talked about all over Substack and Instagram. It’s like a less glossy, balmlike version of Black Honey.
Lastly, something to drool over: this pearl ring from HOWL. Isn’t it stunning? This brand is new to me, but I love everything they are doing. Fine jewelry will be the death of me!

We were at Nekajui in Costa Rica in July and they made their Bloody Mary’s with their homemade tomato water. They were delicious! BTW, Nekajui is a magical place.
oooh that sounds amazing!!!! I’d love to go someday.
Sometimes I think about putting together your itinerary for if you and your boyfriend ever visit San Francisco. There is an Italian restaurant called La Conessa that has the most fantastic tomato martini.
I know people feel some kind of way about Jersey tomatoes but we feel a rival on the West Coast.
In addition to that and the rest of the amazing food, our galleries, and museums are incredible and we have an entire architecture district that includes a fantastic bookshop on architecture
