Since we are all spending a whole lot more time indoors, we are definitely doing a lot more at home pampering, which I love! I have gotten a lot of messages asking me to share my current favorite face masks. (And I *think* you mean the beauty face masks, but just in case, if you’re looking for fabric face masks, check out yesterday’s post!) And also: since I talk so much about (skincare) face masks, we added a new category under the beauty dropdown to the navigation bar making it a little easier find all of my face mask reviews in one place.
Anyway, now that I’m home every night, I have been doing a LOT of masking lately and these are the 5 I’ve been reaching for most! Is there any better combo than wine, movie, mask? Nope!!!
My Top 5 Favorite Face Masks
I’ve been highly into a double mask situation lately. Something to deep cleanse/clarify/exfoliate, followed by something really hydrating and moisturizing. The first three will do that, and then the second two are for hydration! Any combo will work – you will be a glowy, hydrated angel afterward!
Tata Harper’s Resurfacing Mask
If you’ve been reading here a while then this one is nothing new but it never ceases to amaze me – it is SUCH a good mask!!! This is probably my all time favorite mask. Which is a very big statement, I know! I don’t take it lightly. I love this mask so much. It really does everything. It exfoliates and brightens. Leaves you super glowy, AND it firms. It once was my big night out mask, so now I do it during zoom calls instead. (It’s clear-ish so you won’t look scary!) PS – this post has an idea for how to make this mask even BETTER.
Olehenriksen PHAT Glow Facial
This one was a reader recommendation and I am so glad I listened. It’s a gentle yet EXTREMELY effective PHA (polyhydroxy acid) peel. It leaves skin so soft and glowy. I like to do it for 20 minutes (15 is the recommendation so maybe start with that and work up!). I love how glowy you look afterward, how silky and smooth it leaves your skin, and also how gentle it is. Such a good one. And for even more about this mask, check out my full review!
Malin + Goetz Detox Face Mask
I love this detoxifying mask for a million reasons (it gets your skin REALLY clean without drying it out) but the way that it fizzes and bubbles up is just so fun.
Decorte’s Moisture Liposome Mask
This is a newer favorite and I don’t always have the patience for sheet masks (I hate that I have to lay down) but I’ve been laying down more than usual (LOL) so this has been perfect. It’s SO hydrating and it has time release technology which lets the mask continue to hydrate your skin! Read the full post here, and take 25% off sitewide at Decorte with code GRACE25!
Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask
Another oldie but a goodie! I LOVE this hydrating mask. It’s great for travel (they make a little guy that is great for the plane) and also for before bedtime. I have friends who use it as a moisturizer when their skin is really dry. This one is especially amazing after the Ole PHAT or the Tata! Leaves skin so soft and silky. Read a longer review (love letter?) here!
PS – from last year! My favorite face masks for winter.
Thanks for the recommendations! I’d love to try some of these masks myself! ❤️✨

I hope you do!
This is exactly the post I needed this week 🙂 thanks for sharing!!
Oh good! Happy masking!
Thank you so much for sharing! This is really helpful since I have been researching face masks but I just wasn’t sure which ones were good. Definitely checking out the first two!! I hope that you are doing well today too! 🙂
Let me know if you end up trying any of them!!! x
The jet lag makes a fabulous moisturizer after a more intense exfoliating (I’m looking at you babyfacial)
YES!!!!
So many brands I haven’t tried yet… thank you!

Oh good! Happy masking!
Love this post and excited to try a new one or two! Question – I know lots of people are curbing their spending right now which I so appreciate and respect, but also for some of us, self care is all we have to get us through! 🙂 To that end, with the Sephora sale starting later this week, any plans to do a (broader) round-up of your current faves, skincare and make-up? I know make-up isn’t happening much right now, but since the sale only comes around twice a year, it’s a good time to hit up the wishlist of all beauty items (and keeps us hopeful for the times when someone else may be seeing our face again!). Thanks – for this and everything you’re doing. Hope you’re hanging in there!
Yup! The day that the sale launches I will have a big roundup!
Hi Hilary,
Totally feel this. I decided to try the Ordinary Salicylic Acid mask and it really gets out the grime. On top of it, it’s only $12.50 (CAD) so great bang for your buck! I also really like the YESto Cucumbers soothing face mask for $5-6 (CAD). It’s a bit goopy but it’s quite soothing especially for sensitive skin!
Masking is a must. We’re all going to come out of quarantine with killer skin and nails. I’ve managed to greatly improve on my DIY manicures, and the Olay tone correcting serum is surprisingly great for a $28 product.
Also, not sending a DM, but congrats on the press coverage. You’ve handled this whole situation so responsibly, and I appreciate your content so much right now. Honestly I’ve been stress shopping a bit (responsibly, still actually saving $ staying in and doing 99% of our meals at home) and I’m on my third Sephora quarantine order… just got VIB status clicking through purchasing the glow screen yesterday. Hopefully you get credit for the other randoms I put in my cart after I get over there.
Thank you so much Caroline! I really appreciate the kind words!!!
Hey there… question for you. How would you compare the Tata Harper Resurfacing mask to the Drunk Elephant Baby Facial? Do you ‘need’ both, or do they do basically the same thing? Thanks in advance 🙂
Hey! They’re pretty similar. I would say the Ole PHAT is most similar to Drunk Elephant. They both resurface and leave skin soft and glowy. I found the DE to be a little too aggressive (I looked great the next day but was pretty red!) I also HATE the DE packaging, I had two of them and both broke early. But nah you probably don’t need both.
