Ole Henriksen PHAT Glow Facial Review

Update! Now through 4/26/20 Ole Henriksen is doing a “buy one get one for a dollar” promotion on this product! Such a good time to stock up!

Today I wanted to share what has become one of my most favorite masks; especially for when my skin feels dull, dry, dehydrated and blah… Ole Henriksen’s PHAT Glow Facial! I was actually introduced to this product several months ago from a few of you, in the DM’s. I was whining about the Drunk Elephant Baby Facial (the packaging on that is the WORST) and several of you recommended trying this instead.

Ole Henriksen PHAT Glow Facial Review

Well, you guys were right. I ended up liking this product even more than the Drunk Elephant because it’s gentler (less sting) but just as effective (your skin is SO smooth afterwards). It’s also $30 less expensive. It’s your perfect at home facial in a bottle and has quickly become a HG (holy grail!).

Here’s how it works: After washing your face, pat your skin dry and spread on a thin layer. Massage it into your skin until the pink formula turns into a creamy white foam. Leave it on for 15 minutes (those are the instructions but I leave on 20-25 minutes), rinse, and do your usual skincare (on nights that I use this, I don’t use anything super active afterwards… it’s usually Dr. Bader, if not Skin Food or the Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream). You just want something gentle and hydrating. You could also do a hydrating mask like the Summer Fridays Jet Lag one afterward!

Why I love it: It’s like a facial in a bottle. In 15 minutes, your skin looks noticeably better and so much smoother. PHA’s (Polyhydroxy acids) and Nordic birch sap exfoliate, illuminate, brighten, and smooth skin. It’s good for all skin types but IMO it’s great for dry types that can experience roughness and texture issues.

Fun fact: PHA’s are just as effective, but gentler than AHA’s which is why there’s less stinging!

PHAT Glow Facial FAQ’s

Can I use this if I have sensitive skin?

I’d be careful and do a patch test first. While it’s MUCH gentler than the Drunk Elephant one, I don’t personally have sensitive skin so I don’t feel comfortable telling you to use it.

How many “facials” per bottle?

I would say probably 8 or 9? I have done the mask six times and there’s still plenty of product left. You really don’t need a lot of product… massage it in as you go to help keep from using too much.

Can I use this before a big event?

YES. I did not experience any redness or irritation… just glow! You could very easily do this, moisturize and then put on makeup and be ready (and glowy) for a big event!

How often do you use it?

I’d recommend doing this mask once a week! The product page says twice a week but I don’t feel like I need to do it more than once a week.
