July was a great month of reading: well-rounded and very satisfying! I mixed in a little bit of everything: some literary fiction, some contemporary, a few thrillers, and (somewhat surprisingly?) more historical fiction than usual. A nice balance! Also surprising: the thrillers were my least favorite this month.
One of my favorite ways to add a little boldness to an outfit is with a fun pop of color. I recently posted “Yellow Outfit Ideas to Brighten Your Day,” but my ultimate color of choice? Bold orange. It’s surprisingly versatile, no matter if you prefer classic Hermès orange, a soft tangerine, or a fiery red-orange.
A peek at everything I’m looking at (and loving/crushing on) this month. Beautiful dresses and jewelry, special things for the home, the most magnificent marbled dinner plates I’ve ever seen, and so much more!
If you’ve been reading here for a while, you know how much I love a gourmand fragrance. If it smells good enough to eat, it’s for me! I don’t want my scent to be too sweet, but a complicated gourmand like Annabel’s Birthday Cake by Marissa Zappas is right up my alley. It’s delicious, a little bit joyful, and completely addictive. It’s also probably the scent I get the most compliments on, as it smells so yummy but is also totally unique.
A white dress is kind of like the summer version of jeans: endlessly versatile, always in style, and open to interpretation. It’s a blank canvas in the best way. You can keep it super simple—think flat sandals and a straw tote for weekend errands or beach days . . . or, you can pile on the color: a stack of beaded necklaces, a bright lip, maybe even a wedge heel if you’re feeling fancy.
