Fall Wedding Guest (and Event!) Edit

Wedding guest and event dress sourcing is the number one thing taking over my emails and DMs, which means one thing: it’s time for a little edit! We try to do a weddings and events roundup every quarter with the changing seasons, and here is this fall’s roundup. Right now, I am craving moodier hues or classic black for a special event. That, or a big bright warm red. It’s a specific shade of red — not too orange, but not too blue, either! This one from La Ligne fits the bill. I also love a cape detail, and this caped dress is a beauty.

10 Good Books for Fall to Curl Up With This Season

If you’ve been around for a while, you already know how much I love reading. It’s an all year long thing for me but if I had too choose a “favorite reading season,” it would be fall. The weather starts to cool down and it’s time to swap out my my breezy beach reads for something a little moodier. Think dark academia, psychological thrillers, and those perfectly atmospheric stories that keep up past bedtime because you have to know what happens! Today, I’m sharing a list of 10 perfect fall books. Reach for these as the leaves start to change and you pull out your sweaters. Layer Lightly: The Sheer Styles to Wear Now

I remember last year when sheers were announced as one of the big trends, and Carly and I did our trend recap. I just couldn’t wrap my head around it! A blouse, sure . . . but on the bottom? Not so much. I liked the look on other people but thought, “maybe we just leave this one to the kids.” I didn’t think much more about it until this year when I saw this Cami skirt and changed my mind. I’m not sure if you’re the same, but sometimes when a new trend emerges, I need a season or two to get accustomed to it. And then suddenly it will click for me and make more sense. That’s what happened here.
