When Your Skin Is Wayyyy Dry

I was blessed with my father’s blue eyes but cursed with his painfully dry skin. Rough dry patches on my arms and legs, a bit of KP on my arms. My feet crack (and bleed, when it’s really bad!). Honestly, it takes a full-blown routine and loads of maintenance to keep the skin on my body soft (soft-ish, TBH!)

Moving to the South has given my skin some relief. While the humidity is torture on my hair, my skin loves it. I’ve been doing fairly well, but for whatever reason (I also blame stress), my skin has been acting pretty miserable for the past couple of months. Eczema flare-ups, rough patches and flakes, and for whatever reason, my face always seems to be a little red! Sometimes, my legs will be bare yet still feels like I have on tight, itchy pants.

I have some products I really love, things that really help especially during the winter, which is always the worst time of year for dry skin!

When Your Skin Is Wayyyy Dry

On my face, I swear by moisturizing masks. I love this one and this one, but this Shani Darden healing clay mask is a godsend if my face is acting red or upset. This collagen serum feels incredible, plumps up the skin, and is entirely non-irritating. I also love a lip mask (my current favorite, it rivals Laneige without the animal testing).

My body is where it’s hardest. I love a bath and use it as an opportunity to make my bath super hydrating. Obviously, super hot water is not great for dry skin so I try not to let the water get too warm! The combination of this oil and these pebbles is heaven for dry skin. Plus shower oil in the tub (or shower). It’s the best for shaving and adding an extra layer of moisture. This Prequel lotion is a godsend for eczema and itchiness, so much so that I’ve been using it on my face as well. Lastly, this little hydration stick is something I keep on me and use anytime I feel slightly itchy!

Also, a last-minute add. I have been using the Prequel foot cream, and OMG it’s heaven on dry, cracked heels. It feels like an ointment but also has acids to exfoliate. My feet love it. It’s the first thing I’ve tried that I like more than this.

I need a new face moisturizer but the A. Bader one is over my price range. Is your second favorite still Inn Beauty Extreme Cream?

Second favorite would technically be U Beauty’s Super Hydrator https://go.shopmy.us/p-37608293

But at a $50 price point, NOTHING beats InnBeauty!

Love these recs! I have discovered Bioderma shower oil to be a big help with winter dry skin, and the bonus is it’s reasonably priced.
