Rainy Day Essentials

Rainy Days are just plain depressing. There is really only one good thing about this sort of weather: Happy, Brightly colored rainboots and umbrellas to keep you dry and off-set some of the gloom . Below, a few of my picks.

What a gross day. First my phone (which serves as my alarm clock!) died, causing me to oversleep… and then, because the weather had been so beautiful, and I’d stayed at The Boyfriend’s apartment, I had to go to work without a coat. Brrr… still recovering from the chill (and the gloom outside! )

The Metaphor of the Duck.

One of my favorite bosses had a great metaphor. He would say with a smile, “You need to be a duck. Above the surface, you’re smiling, gliding along smoothly. Below the surface, you’re kicking like hell and getting the job done.” This is possibly the best piece of career advice I’ve ever received. Sometimes things get crazy. I get frazzled, I get stressed, and I forget about the duck. I’m seriously considering keeping a rubber ducky on my desk to remind me….

Yoga Chic – My Essentials.

As I’ve written before, I’m a little bit obsessed with yoga… particularly at Equinox. I love their classes, (and I also love that their locker room is fully stocked with Kiehls products, meaning that after a great workout I can lather up with their Grapefruit Body Wash and slather on their Creme de Corps body cream.) I also happen to love yoga because the clothes are just so gosh-darn cute! Soft pants, tie-dye tanks, headbands, cute hoodies for afterward… the list goes on! Below, some of my favorites!
