Spring Trench Coat… Crisis Averted!

I’ve found myself in the midst of a Spring Fashion Crisis.  First, I left my Spring Trench at the boyfriend’s family’s house in CA.  We thought we’d make it back there before Spring but got too busy.  Then, I blew all my shopping money on shoes, earrings, and striped items due to my recent Stripes Obsession.  (I know, I know… poor me.) So I’ve spent Spring, thus far, walking around wearing one of two hideous coats.  Last year’s J.Crew Ruffle Trench (which wouldn’t be so bad, except the red is a bit too orange-y for my complexion… and a navy one, which I used to like, but hate now due to the light blue detailing.  Trust me, its ugly.  Not having a Spring coat, and not having the money to buy a new one has been a bit disturbing… leaving the house, I’ve just felt so… well… poorly put together!  (I know this sounds shallow… but if you don’t look your best, really, how can you feel your best?) Then I saw this coat on Ally Hilfiger and WhoWhatWear‘s March Styling Tips.  My first thought… J.C.

Someday…

Someday, I’ll be a famous writer/jewelry designer/blogger extraordinnaire.  And this will be my office.  (Or something like it.)  Until then, it belongs to the fabulous Heather Christo.

Satya Rai and Hanky Panky Giveaway – I won!

I never win anything.  But then my luck changed – I entered Hanky Panky & Satya Rai’s Peace in 2010 giveaway a week or so ago and I actually won!  My prize came today.  A gorgeous nude “Tri Manta Peace Scarf,” and a custom peace sign thong from Hanky Panky.

Cutest Thing Ever…

For whatever reason, I have the hardest time in the world falling asleep at bedtime.  Put me in front of a TV, or give me a few glasses of wine, and I’m out.  I’m also an excellent napper.  But when it comes to actually going to bed, I can’t sleep.  My mind starts to race and I start to think about a million things… work, friends, family, blogging, shopping, arts & crafts projects… really anything.  You name it, I’m thinking about it… (when I should be sleeping.) The one (simple) thing that works is getting into bed earlier than my “target” fall-asleep time and reading a book.  (Currently, I’m reading Bitter is the New Black, and it’s absolutely hysterical.) There’s just one problem with this trick.  I sleep at the boyfriend’s apartment a lot, and his room is too dark for me to read.  Sometimes we’ll fall asleep with a movie, but otherwise I toss and I turn and usually end up in a terrible mood by morning.
