What I’m Most Excited to Wear this Fall
Even though fall in Charleston is basically just an extended summer, fall is still my favorite season to shop for and probably where I invest the most in my wardrobe. It’s a fine line to walk: I don’t want to be hot, but I still want to look fall-ish. I tend to do lots of dresses, lightweight separates… in deeper colors! Staying cool but still looking “fall.” It can be a bit of a challenge! I am still thinking about fall a lot and planning out the rest of my purchases… but here’s what I’m thinking so far!
Dresses!
I tend to go for dresses in deeper tones. I just got this dôen dress and I’m eyeing this Anthropologie shirt dress (I have it in the white/black but love the brown).
Red!
I am still really excited about red as a color. I love the idea of doing a pop of red (more on that here) but I also like the idea of going full on monochromatic. This La Ligne cardigan + pants combo is too good (use GRACE10).
Pants!
I’m excited to pull out my High Sport kick flares. I have them in brown and navy and for me they were a very worthwhile investment, something I know I’ll have and be excited to wear forever. (A more detailed review of the pants can be found on Substack!). Same goes for my Gala pants from The Row. Each pair of pants was a big investment, but they were also a “buy once, wear forever” sort of piece. Check The RealReal too. “The Row Gala” and “High Sport” have limited (but promising) results. You know how much I love a TRR saved search! For less money, I like these J.Crew pants (High Sport) and these Reformation pants (The Row).
Tailored tops!
I have been of course living in my Sezane Max Shirts, same with my Sold/Out shirt (the perfect oversized button down). And I will continue to wear both of those a LOT this season. But I’m also excited about brands like Lemaire and TWP. I bought this wrap blouse and this cropped button down and am already getting a lot of wear out of each of them.
And of course great bags and shoes. A few are peppered in below but we have a big shoe edit coming tomorrow and then bags will come after that. These slime green ballet flats were a spring purchase but I think I’ll wear them a lot this fall. They’re also (almost?) brat! 😉
