Weekend Reading 8.17.24

Happy weekend. I am in LA. It was kind of a chaotic week (I attempted to cram all of my work into three days after being sick. I failed!). So I finished this week’s list from the plane (I really try to avoid doing that as it takes twice as long as all of these articles just take forever to load!). I apologize in advance for any typos. 🙂 Whatever you are up to, I hope it’s great. Xo

That’s an interesting article from the nytimes. I have definitely stopped following certain influencers who have views I disagree with on certain issues (well, really just one issue that I have personal experience with and feel very strongly about). I think it can be very hard to express an opinion without insulting one side or the other, and if the influencers really think of themselves as business people, they should be aware of that.

Alternatively, if they really care about an issue and want to speak publicly, they should get very informed on this issue and expect to lose some viewers (but maybe also gain others, who knows)

Also, at least for me, I go to fashion blogs/instagram/substacks to be inspired and get shopping ideas , not for political discourse. There are other websites for that!

Always love your Saturday roundups. I just got a Dyson hairdryer. While I already love how quiet and light it is, I don’t think I know how to take full advantage of it or the attachments. Any chance you can recommend some articles or videos about using it? You’re my go to for any beauty related advice I need.
