Weekend Reading 11.9.24

Hello friends, hope you are taking good care of yourselves and doing at least one small thing to bring yourself joy! I do not have much planned. Our literary festival is happening right now and I’m excited for a talk today with Bianca Bosker (I loved her book, Get The Picture!). Otherwise, just planning on cleaning + organizing, and getting back on track with work as I was deeply unproductive this week. Hang in there. Xo

Thank you, Kamala Harris? Sorry but there is nothing to thank. She didn’t run a flawless campaign. She received a billion dollar in donations and is millions in debt. She chose the wrong running mate. She never spoke without being in front of a teleprompter. She never addressed the most important issues that Americans begged for. She declined the opportunity to go on Rogan’s podcast unless it was on her unreasonable terms. She set a terrible example for younger people by not getting on stage election night. Even if she wasn’t ready to concede she should’ve addressed her audience like a strong and courageous leader. Her supporters deserved that. This is just a few of the many misses along her step. Let’s not make her out to be the hero she isn’t… she let the people down.

Are you for real?! This honest, experienced, hard working woman campaigned tirelessly for us all! No misstep on her part or on the part of her campaign should cause our sisters to let us down and vote in an incompetent, dangerous, narcissistic, hate fueled felon! That is like the choice being between the chicken and dog shit covered in ground glass and you asking, “How is the chicken cooked?” Seriously?? The U.S. should be LEADING THE WAY for women’s rights and human rights. Attitudes like yours are what got us here. Thanks for throwing us under the bus. Really just UNBELIEVABLE.

I am coming to Charlestown in mid-December, staying at The Spectator. What would you recommend to do and where to eat? Not a big drinker, but love to eat.
