How I’m Wearing Jelly Shoes.

Ways to Style Jelly Shoes

I am admittedly very excited about the resurgence of jelly shoes. As with many things, it started with The Row. I would be lying if I said I did not immediately covet a pair when they first launched. I just couldn’t pull the trigger. I have heard from friends that they’re the most comfortable of all the options, thanks to a cork footbed. I really like the red but I resisted. There are trends where I am okay splurging, ultimately this wasn’t one of them (as cute as they are!).

I instead opted for a pair of Ancient Greek Sandals’ Iro flats. I went with the pink pair and I really love them – they are just a fun shoe and really cute. I feel like the silhouette is more feminine than The Row’s, which is more in line with my own personal style. Comfort wise, I would say that they are comfortable but not supportive. This makes them great for backyard hangs, light errands, trips to the beach. Less great for long walks or walking on gravel/surfaces that could hurt your feet. Size wise, they run TTS. I am an 8.5/39 and got the 39. No blisters so far! A few other options I like: this $35 option at Clare V (the solid green is my fav but how nice is the cobalt?), Jeffrey Campbell’s $50 version, the OG Melissa fisherman jelly.

Today I thought it would be fun to give you some styling inspiration. I hope you enjoy!

5 ways To style Jelly Shoes

Brunch with Friends

I love the idea of jellies with a white dress. I have this Coco Shop dress and really love it. The fit is fantastic and it’s also very comfortable. What makes this work (in my opinion) is that the look is overall very classic and timeless. The jellies add an element of fun and interest. I read somewhere that you should have one “wrong” thing in every outfit; in this case, the jellies are that!

To the Beach

And to the beach, we’re using the jellies (and other colorful things!) to add some fun to an otherwise simple look. As an aside, I got my first Stylest swimsuit for Harbour Island and love it so much. I felt really good in it and want the white one next. And this coverup is a huge favorite.

Casual Daytime

Jellies also look great with denim shorts and a white tee. Here we are taking the favorite Hanes tee (still can’t get over the price) with some cuffed shorts and happy accessories. I felt like the raffia belt really ties it all together making it feel more playful than sloppy.

Running Around

To me, this look feels very LA! An easy Doen dress, jellies, and I couldn’t resist throwing in an Erewhon tote because I MISS EREWHON and it’s ridiculously overpriced but delicious smoothies!

Pink Caftan outfit

Pink {Caftan} Lady

I loved the idea of creating a tonal pink look. This really amps up the drama! My favorite pink lace caftan, tonal sunglasses, pink jelly flats, pink clutch… it’s not for every day but it would make a fun night out look! Also I am very glad that button studs are trending!

Grace, I love these! The nostalgia hit is so so high for these sandals – jelly shoes were my very favorite as a kid. That price tag is still a little high for me to justify, and I’m not as much a fan of the fisherman style, so I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for an alternate 🙂

  2. I want to jump right in! But all I can remember is sweaty feet and blisters from my childhood. 🙂 I’m totally willing to give them a try at a decent price point.
