Vacation Ready

You know what they say (or maybe they don’t say this), the second you get back from vacation, the more you want to book another one! To be perfectly honest, between all the travel to LA and moving to a warmer city, I don’t want to travel as much as I did when I was younger. But after two nights in the sunshine with my girlfriends (Miami) I couldn’t stop day dreaming about another vacation. I got my wish: my boyfriend and I are going to Venice mid-month! For a whole week! Part work (for him), part fun. We are staying in Venice the whole time but planning a few day trips too. I have never been and am so excited.

A few highlights:
  • Zara has so many good things. I especially love these crochet shorts for over a swimsuit, and this tie-front eyelet blouse.
  • This Marea dress is beautiful. It’s the perfect wear-with-sneakers site seeing dress if you ask me!
  • If you somehow have not purchased this Amazon coverup (I’ve talked about it so much over the years), it’s a must. It is a great price and looks like expensive linen. Mine has held up great in the wash (I hang it dry!).
  • These raffia wedges are to die for and come in several beautiful colors.
  • The tassels on this sarong are so good! I love the pattern too.

How exciting – absolutely can’t wait to hear all about your trip! We are headed there mid-June, and I’m both excited yet terrified of what the crowds will look like. Supposed to be a record year for international travel – eek! Regardless, I’m so grateful to soon see this world wonder, crowds and all. Can’t wait to read about your adventure!

Venice will be fabulous! I was in Florence and Rome last month, and I am ready to go back. The food, the wine, the scenery, the people! We didn’t have enough time to get to Venice so I will enjoy it through you. You will have the best time. And this post is *chef’s kiss*

loooove Venice, specifically at night when it’s quieter and the crowds have died down, it’s magic! Two favorites for food are Al Covo and Da Mamo – can’t wait to read about the trip 🙂

Go to Padua – about 40 min outside of Venice, and see the Scrovegni Chapel. It’s covered in frescoes that Giotto painted in 1305. Enjoy!

I visited Italy in September with my adult daughter and my best friend and fell in love with Venice. Highly recommend a morning gondola ride. It seems cheesy but was absolutely lovely and a definite highlight of our trip! Also, wear comfy shoes when you can. It’s a LOT of walking but worth it!
