OK how is today the last day of August? Wow. I am not ready for September! This weekend was really nice. Yesterday’s perfect weather was the icing on the cake. I had an exhausting week so stayed home on Friday night. Had a leisurely Saturday morning and then visited with my sister + her little family to play with my niece and then went to American Bar (one of my fav spots in the city and their outdoor space is lovely!) on Saturday night with Alex and Becca.
Yesterday, I had a nice stay-at-home day… I was very proud of myself as I cleaned out and sorted my entire closet… including my linens which had become a messy pile, impossible to decipher between top sheet, bottom sheet, and duvet cover. It was one of those tasks I’d been putting off for ages – it felt good to just buckle down and get it done!
This Week’s Good Things, 8.31.20
On the reading front I finished this book (I really liked it!) and started this one (creepy in a good way so far). Definitely not as much reading as I would have liked to have done, but happy to have been so productive!
I also wanted to give a special mention to Brinker & Eliza, a small business based out of Fairfield, CT. Their jewelry is incredible. I bought the NY Minute necklace (love love love – the pendant is based on an old New York subway token) and they very generously gifted me a few new things. This necklace and bracelet are among my favorites. So simple but they make a big statement, especially when worn together!
Also! The Night silk mask now comes in (limited edition) cream and I LOVE. This is the best mask I own, it’s breathable and won’t break you out. You can use our podcast code BOP20 for 20% off.
Equilibria Sale
I am trying not to talk your ear off about this sale but it’s such a good one, and I believe in these products SO MUCH. They’ve been incredible (especially during the pandemic) for sleep, stress, and general irritability. (I’ve been so cranky and irritable these days.) Yesterday I updated my post about CBD but the important thing to know is that with my code graceatwood you can get 30% off instead of 15% off ANDDD it works for existing customers (usually my code only works for new customers!). Now’s the time to restock.
Crooked Media Documentary
Crooked Media has a new documentary short out about the power of digital marketing and its impact on voter turnout (specifically in Wisconsin this past spring). You can watch Dress Rehearsal right this way, or just watch it above. It’s only 17 minutes long but it’s so interesting and powerful!
Jean-Paul Donadini
Oh wow. Tanya Taylor posted one of Jean-Paul Donadini’s paintings earlier last week and it sent me down an almost immediate art rabbit hole! His work is incredible. He is a French painter and in his words “I like the idea of a flat surface that becomes dynamic.” I am in love. I think he might be my next big art splurge (not for a long time, but I have a special savings account for art!) but for now will settle for stalking him on Instagram.
Shaker & Spoon
This is such a cool idea! Shaker & Spoon is a monthly subscription service that sends you recipe cards and everything but the booze to make several different artisanal cocktails. I was sent a box by a tequila brand and loved it, am thinking of subscribing. It’s perfect for the budding mixologist… tracking down all of those fancy mixers (things like Italian sodas, candied ginger, orange oil, etc) can be really hard!
supergoop x Frame
Supergoop and Frame collaborated on such a gorgeous set. A beautiful raffia tote (it’s expensive but the quality is incredible), filled with sunscreen: Supergoop Glow Stick, Glowscreen (my FAV – read my review!), and Lipscreen.
Birdies VOTE Collection
Birdies came out with the CUTEST collection of vote slippers. I love them all, especially the primary colored “VOTE” pair… what better way to wear your mission on your sleeve! As a part of the initiative, Birdies donated $10,000 to Step up Women’s Network, a women’s professional network with a mission of supporting and inspiring young girls.

You too!
Hi Grace!
I just tried your Equilibria code and I’m only getting 15% off. Thought I’d check 🙂
Hi Shohini!
Can you send a note to their customer service team? I just tried and it worked fine on my end, so I know it’s working! Sorry that you are having difficulties, I think that’s probably the best way to resolve.
