Happy Monday, friends! How was your weekend? Mine was so, so nice. Very cozy.
I have a pretty calm week ahead. Last week was packed with deadlines and such, prepping for my next Amazon launch (coming so soon, a little sneak peek below!) and a few other big brand collabs. This week should be much quieter. Famous last words? Probably. But now that we are into March (which is hard to believe!?) the move is getting REAL. My movers come on 3/31 and there is just so much to do before I leave. It feels crazy and weird (but really exciting) that this is my last month in Brooklyn. I don’t think it’s completely sunk in that I am about to completely uproot my entire life? I feel like I should be more stressed out about this but I’m oddly… not!? Strange, strange!
This Week’s Good Things 3.1.21
Uma Pure Calm Oil
This oil is so nice. I have been doing a new little ritual (you can thank Melissa Wood Health for this one!) where I put essential oils on my feet, palms, behind my neck and over my heart before I do a yoga or pilates workout and it just feels (and smells) so good. Chamomile, lavender, vetiver… ahhhhhhh – just so soothing and relaxing. I had bought this one from Uma a longgggg time ago (it was sitting in my nightstand but I never remember to use it before bedtime!) so pulled it out and it’s such a nice treat.
Tell Me Your Secrets on Hulu
This is my new TV obsession. I have only watched two episodes but am hooked. If you love anything Gillian Flynn, you’ll love this… major Sharp Objects vibes.
Amazon the Drop Preview
It’s coming! I am SO SO SO excited to share just a tiny sneak peek of my Amazon the Drop staples. There will be three styles: a mini dress, a kaftan (pictured above – we updated last summer’s kaftan in a different fabric with higher armholes!!!), and a pretty maxi dress. I think you guys are going to love them. Sign up to get a text message update the minute they launch, right this way.
Well Suited, by Nikki and Lola Ogunnaike
This podcast! First of all, I love the sister dynamic. And Nikki and Lola have a great one. Also, what a successful set of sisters: Nikki is the digital director for Harper’s Bazaar and Lola is an entertainment journalist and TV host/commentator. I am also really enjoying all of the fashion talk. It’s been such a long time since I got dressed, like seriously properly dressed, so it’s fun living through them and their amazing guests. I recommend starting with the episode where they interview each other!
Liz Lidgett
When it is safe to travel freely I may need to take a trip to Des Moines JUST to visit Liz Ligett’s amazing gallery. Her instagram page (and her personal page too) are both such an incredible resource for anyone wanting to learn more about art… would highly recommend watching her highlights. I love that she believes in “art for everyone,” offering original artwork at a wide range of pricepoints.

Thanks Charmaine!
Grace – I can’t believe your move is about to happen!! I have so loved the peek you have given us into life in NYC. Can’t wait to see what do you do in this next chapter.
Thank you so much, Amy!!!!
As a Des Moines resident and fan of Liz Ligett’s gallery, it makes me SO happy to see her listed here. Des Moines is a surprisingly fun little place!
As a fellow midwesterner i was excited too! I live in Kansas City and have been wanting to make a trip to Des Moines one day. do you have an recommendations for things to do (aside from the gallery of course!)?
That’s awesome! KC is one of our go to long weekend spots (pre pandemic) and we can’t wait to get back.
I have SO much to recommend in Des Moines! The gallery is located in the East Village which is a fun and thriving part of the city–great restaurants and bars and good shopping (lots of local boutiques) It’s also close to access for the river walk which is nice.
We have a fantastic sculpture garden on the western part of downtown. Nothing better than getting a coffee and lounging in the garden on a beautiful day. Our art museum is small, but lovely (and free!) and we have an incredible botanical garden. We have a minor league baseball team and it’s fun to catch a game in the summer–tho may be less fun for folks from a city with a major league team.
Favorite restaurants:
Alba
Proof
Centro
Aposto
Clyde’s Fine Diner
Breweries:
Peace Tree
Lua
Coffee:
Horizon Line
Hope this helps!
Aw I’m so glad to hear that!!!! I want to visit!
Love the jeans you are wearing with the white shirt. Where are they from?
They’re AGOLDE but old!
The last paragraph is cut off for me. Maybe it’s just my phone? I just see this: “ I love that she believes in “art for everyone,” offering original artwork at
”
Sorry about that – fixed!
Gah! So exciting to see your Amazon preview!
You are always so supportive – thanks, Jenn!!!
Is Tell Me Your Secrets on Hulu or Prime? The graphic says Amazon original but you said Hulu–looks good whichever platform it is!
Oh you’re right, it’s on Amazon! My apologies.
I am excited for the emerald green dress I think you shared on stories. Unless I dreamt it 🙂 I moved last year and there will always be a last minute frenzy around it, which in my opinion is unavoidable, as you need certain items even the day/week before they are packed. But it will go great Grace!
Oh good! Yes there’s an emerald green mini dress with puff sleeves! So excited 🙂
Wow, so exciting, Grace, and AMAZING that you’re so calm during all of this. I wanna channel some of your calm energy as this month is crazy for me as well, with many life changes happening!
I just made sure to sign up for The Drop text updates (as last time, I stayed up all night waiting for it… no regrets, ha!) I’m super excited for the MAXI DRESS!
