The Vacuum That Changed My Life.

Dyson V11 Torque Drive vacuum

Okay. I realize this title was a bit dramatic. Sometimes we (the world of bloggers) can be a bit hyperbolic. But I assure you – I’m not exaggerating.

A little under two years ago, I got my first Dyson – the Dyson Cyclone V10 Absolute vacuum. Prior to getting my Dyson, vacuuming was this whole cumbersome process. Drag it out from the closet, detangle cord, plug it in, vacuum… plug into a different area of my apartment, vacuum, repeat. I mean it was fine, but it was something I dreaded doing and it was a process… not something I could just easily do every time Tyrion decided to do his sprints and leave a fluffy trail of fur in his path (true story, this happens).

The Vacuum That Changed My Life:

Then I got this vacuum and my whole world was changed. It’s powerful so it gets EVERYTHING… no going back and forth and back and forth. It’s lightweight so it’s easy. And there are no cords etc… you just grab it and vacuum and then stick it back on its charging station when you are done. I joke that I have romantic feelings for my Dyson but I’m kind of… not kidding? Between the powerful suction technology of the Dyson and the fact that it’s lightweight and cordless, I’m obsessed. Especially as a pet owner.

Two years later, my Dyson V10 is in perfect condition. I vacuum almost every day (hey, I’m a neat freak and also a cat owner) which is both cathartic and so satisfying as it gets my apartment SO clean. I could not love it more. As a part of this campaign, Dyson gifted me the brand new Dyson V11 Torque Drive vacuum (which is even more powerful than the V10!). I am going to give it to my parents for Christmas and cannot wait to show them how magical the Dyson is.

I don’t know if I’ve ever been more excited to give my parents a gift. And I have a feeling they won’t understand how amazing it is at first… and then (like me), it will be all they can talk about!

What’s different with the V11?

I mean let’s be honest – both vacuums are very, very impressive. But the V11 is even more impressive than the V10.

First of all, as I said above it’s even more powerful because it offers 20% more suction than the V10. Second, it has a much longer battery life. But the most impressive thing (to me) is that the head has special technology which allows it to automatically know whether it is vacuuming on carpets or floors… and make adjustments based upon that. Genius! It also has a new LCD screen that displays cleaning mode, and estimated run time remaining.

The Vacuum That Changed My Life

The holidays are the most wonderful time of the year, but they can be the messiest, too! I live on the ground floor so leaves always track into my kitchen. Add to the fact that I entertain and have friends stay with me a lot, you have the recipe for a very messy home.

I love Dyson’s commitment to innovation (PLEASE listen to the episode of How I Built This with James Dyson). They engineer the absolute best vacuums with powerful suction for the deepest clean on ALL floor types… carpet or hardwood! Your Dyson will clean up every mess and do it with absolute ease!

Grace is not exaggerating here! I got a Dyson last month and even though my previous vacuum was a Dyson, it was a corded vacuum. My V10 truly is life-changing because when you have a dog, cat and a family of five life is messy. And buying through the Dyson website is a good deal because of the extra attachments you get with it. Don’t get me started on the Dyson AirWrap.

Thank you for the back up! I feel like a lunatic raving so fanatically about a vacuum but nothing is better!

The very first thing I purchased for my new home a couple years ago was a Dyson Big Ball vacuum. Two years later, it’s still going strong and performs the way it did on Day 1. My parents have the cordless version and though it performs well, the battery doesn’t last that long (the unit dies after about 30-40 minutes of vacuuming). I *think* the one they have is the V8 so hopefully, battery life is something that’s been improved in the newer cordless models. How long does yours typically last when you’re using it?

What I have heard is that the battery life seems to get better with each model! For the V10, my battery lasts about an hour but I never vacuum for even close to an hour and always recharge in between uses so I’ve been fine!!!

Can you share more on how the charging station works? I almost bought one on Black Friday but was too intimidated/confused by what I would need to attach to my wall, and where I would do it, to pull the trigger. Any insight from Dyson owners would be greatly appreciated!

I actually didn’t connect it fully, as I rent and was also intimidated. I just keep it plugged in to charge!

When I ordered from Dyson I was able to get the standing charging station/ attachment holder for free. You run the cord up the station and nothing has to be attached to the wall, just plugged in. It’s quite compact and fits in a space next to my dryer in the laundry room. But I could easily move it to another room.

I’m here for it! We have two Dyson V7 cordless because it’s THAT good. We have a 2nd in our vacation cabin because we got tired of dragging it back and forth. I have two big hairy dogs and a cat and vacuum every single day. This vacuum is a beast. My husband was the one who made the purchase decision, but I’m a convert. The cordless makes it possible to vacuum the whole house in 20 minutes and it is so strangely satisfying to see how much dirt and hair we have each and every day. I love it. Also, we have had two motor issues (we’ve had our 1st one for 2 years) and the manufacturer has been excellent at fixing and even replacing. We use the crap out of it. Totally, 100% worth it.

Good to know! My sister swears by her Miele, which lasted her 16 years before she had to buy a new one( cord was worn out, but motor still strong). She loves her Dyson hand vac .I’m in love with my Eufy robovac! Can’t believe the cat hair it picks up!

I have just purchased a V11, very impressive.
I noticed some of the pics of the V11 show the carpet head with a red pressure release slot and some do not, any thoughts

Your enthusiasm for the Dyson vacuums is contagious! How do you find the new V11’s features compare to the V10 in daily use? Does the auto-adjusting head make a noticeable difference?
