Styling Leopard for Fall.

You’ve heard it here; you’ve heard it everywhere. Leopard is back in a big way! Today, we are sharing how to style four key leopard print pieces: a jacket, a flat, a top, and pants. This isn’t 2010’s leopard print. We aren’t wearing leopard print with red skinny jeans, a sock bun, and a bib necklace. Maybe it’s just me, a geriatric millennial who found her style during those years… but when I see leopard print, that’s where my mind goes!

2024’s leopard print revival is a little more refined. You’ll notice that with each of these looks, we let the leopard print really shine, pairing it with simpler neutrals and basics. Otherwise, it can feel a little over the top!

PS – I am linking everything I’m wearing in the caption above; unfortunately, my bag is Loewe from last year, and they didn’t bring it back. A bummer as it is one of my absolute favorite bags. If I were in the market to buy a bag like this now, I’d choose this from Khaite. Carly has this Freja bag which is beautiful at a more affordable price.

Leopard Flats

This look is probably the easiest to pull off. Start with your foundation: wide-leg jeans and a pretty pointelle tee. Layer on a cozy chocolate brown sweater (if you’re in a warmer climate like me, you’re probably tying it over your shoulders!). Then, your leopard flats and simple accessories: a slouchy black bag and chunky gold hoops.

I love these Marion Park flats, and they are exceptionally comfortable!

Leopard Blouse

Ooh, I love this one. It feels very polished and tailored without being stuffy. This J.Crew blouse is absolutely beautiful, and I love how it looks with rust suede. The ruggedness of the jacket pairs so well with more delicate fabrics like this top. A belt and a low heel pull it all together. These flats are a nod to the Loro Piana Rebecca Flats (styled below), which are probably my favorite shoes right now. However, they are expensive and hard to find, so these are the best “dupe” I’ve found.

Leopard Jeans

This is the most funky look of the bunch, but I really love it. Leopard denim feels intimidating, but when you pair it with a sweet lace blouse (this one from Doen is perfect!) and little Mary Janes (I love the brown suede), it suddenly makes sense and feels easy to wear.

Leopard Jacket

This look is what inspired the photos I shared above and below. I love the way my leopard jacket shines when it is paired with great basics. I just got this leopard blazer/jacket and love it so much (it’s also great for Charleston as it’s more blazer than heavy winter coat). I would say that it runs slightly small; I am in the medium, and it is more fitted than I expected. So if you anticipate wearing it over heavier sweaters, definitely size up.

I had to include a photo of my Loro Piana Rebecca flats. They are perfect in every way. I had pre-ordered mine this summer and they jusssst came in. In my opinion they were completely worth the wait (and splurge). These are a good affordable alternative.
