Chocolate Brown

Chocolate brown is everywhere this season and I could not love it more. I know that Carly agrees; it’s her favorite color! Naturally, we had to pull together an edit of favorite pieces. We’ve both been very excited to send this round-up out out into the world as it’s all just so good. Personally, I’ve bought a few things. The Madewell bag, the La Ligne Marin sweater (probably my all time favorite sweater!), the Veronica Beard penny loafers (these are wildly comfortable – they are maybe even more cozy than my slippers).

I love the idea of swapping in chocolate brown where I’d usually wear black. It’s beautiful with more traditional pairings like navy blue, other shades of brown + tan, denim, even black (just make sure there is some contrast between the brown and black: the brown can’t be too dark!). More unexpectedly, I love dark brown with chartreuse/lime green. Same with bright red, actually! Lastly, I want to wear a head to toe chocolate brown look. I’d do the sweater, these pants, a simple ballet flat. Perfection.

Funny enough, Shopbop launched their Fall ’24 trend edit this week. Luxe browns was one of the categories. We felt very on trend!

    I’m late to comment, but between this post and Banana Republic’s ridiculous sale, I am now the proud and happy owner of a “brownfit” – a luscious cashmere turtleneck sweater and crop flare ponte pants both in “chocolate ganache”. My question is, if I actually get brave enough to wear together, what shoes/boots do I wear with? I’m in Wisconsin, so closed toe shoes will be required soon, and I’m 47, so no more heels over 2″. Different answer if I wear pants with a white button-down?
