Print & Pattern Play

I feel the most like myself, the most alive, my happiest when I am wearing pattern. In some ways, this is lazy dressing. If you have on a really great patterned dress (or matching set), the rest is easy. I’ll pull my hair back into a low bun, add some gold jewelry and a neutral heel, and I am done. Dressing in separates and mixing neutral pieces together is (for me at least), much harder! Of course in this case, the hard part is actually in the finding of the beautiful patterned dress. There is also a lot of bad pattern out there.

Today, we’re rounding up a slew of great patterned pieces. The majority are dresses but there are also some fun separates. The unifying feature in all of these is that you pick one thing and then you are done. The hard part is over. Keep the rest of your look simple to let the pattern really shine.

A few key standouts:
  • We featured this & Other Stories dress in our late summer wedding guest edit (if you have a special event coming up, definitely check out that post!) and I loved it so much that (despite having no fancy parties in my pipeline), I ordered it anyway. It is a showstopper! The 8 fits me like a glove so if you are between sizes, size up!
  • This Tuckerneck dress is in my cart. I can’t get over the print!
  • I bought this dรดen dress the day it launched. It will be the perfect fall in Charleston dress. A darker color palette but still light and breezy.
  • Carly and I loved this pattern so much that we featured three pieces. This dress, this top, this skirt! Love this long sleeve dress as well.
  • This graphic sundress is just too good.
  • Wanted to flag that this La Ligne dress did not work for me; I wound up returning it as it clung to my stomach. But it would be beautiful on someone else. I’m really sad that it didn’t work.
