When I stumbled across Ormaie, I was initially drawn to the packaging. It is beautiful. These bottles are objects. The sort of beauty you want out, never in a drawer, proudly displayed on your vanity! I ordered several samples from the brand to try as many as possible before committing. I spent weeks testing them all out!
I landed on Les Brumes. This scent is bright like candy. It’s citrusy, with a little bit of woodsiness. I love that it incorporates sandalwood, which makes a nice soft foil to the more vibrant citrus notes. I could wear this fragrance every day and never get sick of it. The brand’s website describes it as “the memory of a morning in a citrus field. It captures the moment when the mist descends on the citrus trees and the surrounding woods.” I could see that.

In case you are curious, here are my notes on the other scents I tried. Les Brumes was far and away my favorite!
Toi Toi Toi—I had been most excited about this, but it’s not for me! It smells like almonds and cherries at first, and then dries down to a woodsier scent—it doesn’t work with my chemistry. I like sweet and woody fragrances, but I don’t like this.
Le Pessant—This is weird. In theory, I should love it as it has all my typical favorite notes, but it’s not my favorite. It is very green, with notes of lavender. It reminds me of a man’s aftershave.
L’Ivrée Bleu – I like this, but not enough to buy it. You notice the cocoa notes. There’s a little vanilla and also some freshness. I had expected it to be a heavier scent but it’s actually so light!
28 Degrees—a warm floral. I liked this, but not enough to buy it and wear it regularly. It would be a nice summer scent: white flowers, shea butter, warmth.
