4 Fragrances I’m Loving Right Now

I am a bit of a fragrance addict, but you probably know that by now. As the weather warms up, I tend to rotate in lighter scents. Orange blossom, citrus, and lighter florals are my favorites, though I’ve been dousing myself in Soleil Tonka: it’s light, gourmand, and really easy to wear. I like my summer fragrances to be easy and uncomplicated, and all four of these fit the bill.

More fragrance favorites here, + check out my last fragrance round-up.

Chambre52 Soleil Tonka

This scent is heavenly. It’s the perfume I want to wear most lately. I bought it at Printemps when I was in New York for work, and I cannot recommend perfume shopping there enough, as they have so many brands that are harder to find in the US. If you love Tonka, you’ll love this. It’s light and gourmand and smells good enough to eat (without being saccharine sweet). The fragrance notes I notice most are the base notes: tonka, vanilla, and musk. LOVE.

Obvious Une Fleur D’Oranger

This fragrance was a reader recommendation. You may know this if you’re a long-time follower, but I love orange blossom; it is one of my favorite fragrance notes. A traditional orange blossom fragrance is more floral than citrus. (My all-time favorite is the Coqui Coqui orange blossom fragrance, followed by Buly.) This one is more sparkly and citrusy, thanks to orange + bergamot notes. You still have the softness of orange blossom, but the citrus notes give it a brighter finish. That makes this the perfect summer fragrance. It reminds me of a more sophisticated, elevated version of Clinique Happy. (A good thing: Happy was my favorite, circa 1999!). Like if you took Happy, softened it up with a bit of orange blossom and neroli. It’s an instant mood booster.

Lake & Sky Citrus Blonde

This fragrance is very similar to the Obvious Une Fleur D’Oranger, but brighter and a little bit sweeter. It’s a similarly happy scent (I wear these two for a mood boost), but it’s got pink pepper, fresh peach, and crisp cedarwood as well. If you are newer to citrus perfumes, try this — it’s really fresh and easy to wear. Summer in a bottle, if you ask me. Also, it’s priced very well, and if you use GRACEATWOOD15, you can take 15% off at Lake & Sky. (I also really love their Santal and 11 11 Vanilla scents).

D.S. & Durga Brown Flowers

Another light fragrance, this one is heavy on flowers, which is interesting for me as I don’t typically gravitate toward floral scents. It has a musky dry down with notes of orchid and jasmine. It’s just a really nice, pretty fragrance. I’ll note that my best friend and I are both fragrance addicts but have opposing body chemistries. So if something smells great on me, it’s usually awful on her, and vice versa. This is the first fragrance to date that we both love!

It’s SO NICE!!! And special as they don’t really sell this line in the US!

I’ve been on the hunt for a new signature scent, and I can’t wait to try some of these. I want to get my hands on Obvious Une Fleur D’Oranger—it sounds like the type of fragrance I’d love. Thanks for the recommendations.
