This post was a reader request! My favorite pajamas. I am a bit specific in my pajama taste. While I love a good classic pajama set I’m definitely partial to a nightshirt. I get hot when I sleep and am much more comfortable in a nightshirt. It needs to be cute and chic but it also needs to hold up in the wash. I want the fit to be loose and comfy like I’m sleeping in my (fictitious) boyfriend’s shirt. And the fabric needs to be nice (and ideally, cooling?) Last but not least – I’ve said this before! – I send out all my laundry (I don’t have laundry in my building) so it needs to be dryer friendly! Pajamas that must be hang dried are not for me. But even if I had laundry, I wouldn’t want to hang dry my PJs – way too much effort!
My favorite pajama brands!
Summersalt
Everything Summersalt makes is just too cute. I was a fan of their swimsuits for ages and was lucky enough to work with them on a sponsored instagram when they launched pajamas (check out the cute video I made for them!) but I love the pajamas. Love. SO SOFT and silky! (and perfectly lightweight for summer). I liked them so much that I gave my mom a couple of the nightshirts as I knew she’d love them for the Charleston heat. My favorite prints are the graphic blue floral, the blue stripe, and the black celestial print. These also held up very well in the wash. I took a medium in these! Use code GRACE10 for a $10 gift!
Nightire
I love love Nightire because of their cooling bamboo fabric. Truly, so great if you are a hot sleeper like I am. I was lucky enough to get to do a very fun collaboration with them this year and they are still my absolute favorite pajamas. So soft and silky, cool to the touch, with fun prints and patterns.
Printfresh
Printfresh makes VERY cute things, but especially nightshirts. I only just learned about them when they reached out to me to see if I’d be interested in gifting. They sent me this shirt (pictured above) and I just love it so much. (I take a small!) The cheetahs and the blush color palette are just perfect together! Besides the nightshirts I love the short pajama sets and robes, too! I sent mine out with the laundry and it held up very well (it didn’t shrink!). You can use code GRACE15 for 15% off their site!
Kassatex
Kassatex is one of my favorites for bedding and towels (and pretty much anything) but what people don’t know is that they make the best classic nightshirts! I have two: the blue + white with red piping and the classic white. What I like about it is that the fabric is so cooling (PERFECT for summer). It’s made out from 65% rayon from bamboo and 35% polyester. It looks like a classic cotton poplin but it’s shockingly cooling and wicks moisture away so that you don’t get too hot or sweaty in the middle of the night. I’ve had mine for almost two years and they’ve both held up very well in the wash – they look immaculate. Also they never wrinkle. They’re a little pricy but worth the money. I wear a S/M in the nightshirt and the fit is PERFECT.
J.Crew
Okay J.Crew is the OG for pajamas – also, I love that they can be monogrammed. I think my first ever nightshirt came from them? I will be honest, I prefer the Kassatex one to the J.Crew nightshirt (J.Crew’s is 100% cotton) because it’s a bit more cooling, but I love J.Crew’s too. And it’s J.Crew so it’s always on sale, meaning it’s about half the price of the Kassatex one (and at that, I’m shopping J.Crew right now bc I hope they recover from their bankruptcy filings!!!). I take a medium in J.Crew’s pajamas!
Flora Dancia
Flora Dancia is more of a splurge but their pajamas are beautiful. They’re a small business based in San Francisco and everything is made in Italy. They sent me this beauuuutiful set as a gift and it’s easily the most luxurious pajama set I’ve ever owned. Mother of pearl buttons, the prettiest print, silky cotton sateen. I was nervous to send them out in the wash and I did and they were fine. I take a size 3!
Sant & Abel
I love Sant & Abel’s pajamas but mostly just adore all of their cool collaborations! They’re an Australian brand and I love all of their hotel collabs in particular. My Beverly Hills Hotel pajamas from them are my absolute favorite. I have the short set but want the nightshirt! You can see them in action in this post (staying at the BHH while wearing BHH pj’s will always be a fav memory!) They’ve also done some really cool partnerships with Donald Drawbertson and Goop! I take a medium!
What about slippers?
For slippers, I love my Birdies! These pretty satin flats are my favorite house shoes. I also love my UGG “pandemic shoes.” The strap and rubber sole means they’d actually be fine to wear out of the house.
Ooh, definitely going to check these brands out! I currently wear my old tees to bed… not very glam, haha! 😛

Haha! I’ve been there! XO
Try the Cat’s pajamas from Venice, CA!! Their pima cotton pajamas are the best!
Oooh I will take a peek!!! Sounds right up my alley, always appreciate a good rec! xo
Your Summersalt pj video was the cutest. I bought the graphic floral nightshirt and am obsessed!
aw thank you!
Budget friendly: Soma and Nordsteom Moonlight Pajamas. Some of my favorite ones! So soft. So light. Oh and the t-shirt nightgowns from Wal Mart. I have a lighthouse t shirt night gown from 2005. $6 and still have it 15 years later. I mean, obviously not for fashion influencers. But great for comfort.
Oh amazing! Thanks for sharing!!!
I really need to update my pj game! Thank you x

Lake pjs and the Cat’s pjs! You’ won’t be disappointed! 🙂
Thanks for the recs!
This is great! Surprised not to see Katie Kime (who I discovered via you) and Lake Pajamas (Charleston small biz!). Lake says hang dry which has perhaps been your hesitation there but I put mine in the dryer on low and they’ve been fine for the past year+.
Hi! Ya I love Katie Kime – should have included her!
I like Lake but I feel like a toddler wearing them. Very cute, and I’ve worn in the past but not really my personal style anymore!!!! The fabric is very nice and I know a lot of people love but not my thing! XO
