My Favorite Kind of Girls Trip.

Thank you to VRBO for partnering on this post!

When it comes to taking a girls trip, I have a lot to say, and a lot of requirements. What can I say: I am an introvert in my forties; I’m comfortable with who I am!

My Favorite Kind of Girls Trip.

Here are a few:

  • As my social battery can run low, I like to have my own room to retreat to at night. I’m a light sleeper and have a hard time sharing a bed so I enjoy a trip so much more when I have my own space.
  • That being said, once I am awake, I want to be together! I want the closeness of getting up in the morning, having breakfast together… getting home from dinner and unwinding (preferably on a porch), etc. That’s when the bonding happens!
  • I absolutely love a lazy girls trip. Laying by the pool, meandering out for lunch, hanging at the beach. Don’t give me too many activities.
  • And it is my absolute favorite thing to stay home and cook together, so a kitchen would be nice.

For these reasons (and many more), when I am booking a girls trip, Vrbo is the only way to do it. Fun fact: Vrbo is the only major vacation rental platform with a loyalty program. One Key members can get immediate discounts and earn and redeem OneKeyCash across Expedia, Vrbo, and Hotels.com. For that reason, I always volunteer to book the trip and have my friends reimburse me. If you’re a One Key member, you’ll earn OneKeyCash on your Vrbo booking, allowing you to earn and use rewards on eligible Expedia, Hotels.com and Vrbo bookings. Pro-tip: book the group trip on Vrbo and then use the OneKeyCash you earn on your next Hotels.com stay. Maybe one of these?

In a few weeks, I’m going to Harbour Island with three of my close girlfriends. We are staying at my friend Chassity’s amazing home, Coral House, which is conveniently available to rent on Vrbo. With four bedrooms and four bathrooms, it sleeps up to ten people. But we are really living luxuriously as there are just four of us going, meaning we will have plenty of space to sprawl out and enjoy.

Coral House could not be more perfect for a girls trip. Chassity has impeccable style, and it’s decorated so exquisitely. It’s a historic cottage (originally built in the mid 1800s!) overlooking the harbour with beautiful sunset views.

This will be my second time visiting Harbour Island. I can’t wait! If you have recommendations for what to do and where to eat, I would love to hear them in the comments.

I cannot wait to be poolside!

Did I mention it’s just a seven minute walk from the beach?
