Lush Velvets

I am starting to plan my holiday party wardrobe, and one of my favorite (but underrepresented in my own wardrobe!) festive textures is velvet. And right now, there are so many good pieces. I got these drapey velvet pants from La Ligne and think that (paired with either a sequin top, crisp tuxedo top, or fuzzy sweater), they will be one of my comfy party looks. IMO, you really need at least one “comfy party look” this time of year when you just want to be home in sweatpants but don’t want to miss out on the fun, either! That’s the thing about velvet. There are a lot of soft, stretchy pieces that feel like pajamas, which definitely resonates with my vibe (take this top, for example).

I love everything in this round-up, but there are a few stars. This tailored blazer and this shell top are perfection. I splurged on this velvet trench (and the matching mini dress) and can’t wait to wear them both separately as a set. I wore the dress on Halloween! And I bought these affordable flats at the end of summer and have worn them nonstop. And oh my goodness: this chartreuse dress. Last but not least, I really want these Tuckernuck flats. The color and the cut of the shoe… flawless!
