Last Week in Outfits

It was… a week of smocked dresses! Hahahaha. Like I said with the gold Loeffler slides, sometimes I don’t even realize a pattern until I look at all my outfits together and am like oh wow, how predictable am I… perhaps I should branch out a little bit. The truth is that it’s quite hot and humid here and I just love a smocked dress. It’s definitely my perfect summer uniform: tight where it needs to be (skip the bra if it’s extra hot), and flowy everywhere else. Perfect! 😉

PS – speaking of smocked dresses, mark your calendar/timer? Today at noon, Hill House is launching a new collection. Nap dresses, but also separates. I AM SO EXCITED.

Monday

I worked from Hotel Emeline (a really cute spot… one of my favorite hotels here and a great place to work, love their coffee shop!). Wore an old Reformation dress (from three years ago, this one is very very similar) and gold birks (it was about a 25 minute walk each way so needed comfy shoes!).

Tuesday

Worked from home but popped out for a quick lunch with Chassity. Wore my trusty navy blue nap dress, this fun beaded necklace, + my go-to Loeffler Randall heels.

Thursday

Worked from home. Wore these Madewell shorts (they are the BEST, available in more sizes here) and a Lululemon tee. The bracelets are Roxanne Assouline. (Mine are a few years old but these are similar)

Later that night I changed for dinner and put on an Autumn Cashmere puff sleeve top (from last year), these fun earrings, and my leopard Loeffler heels.

Friday

Went to a lunch and learn with a group of local Charleston creatives during the day. Wore this Figue dress from a few years back (looks a lot like a nap dress but with pom poms and embroidery – they brought it back in a fun pattern this year), + gold birks (had a long walk!).

That night I changed into yet another smocked dress (the print is just so cool) from La Ligne for a tour of Jill Hooper’s studio! Added some fun vintage Chanel earrings and my Sarah Flint block heels.

Saturday

Spent the morning at the farmer’s market with my mom. Wore an Aviator Nation tee + Citizens for Humanity Shorts – both quite old.

That night I had a going away party for two friends, out at a friend’s beach house on Sullivan’s Island. I wore this La Ligne dress and my Castaner espadrilles which are also available here. It was a terribly impractical outfit decision as we got hit with a massive thunderstorm, but I still really liked my outfit.

You are so inspiring me with your outfits! I love the effortless dresses with the earrings, but I’m also loving the simple shorts and tee combo – super chic but put together! Love your style, it’s effortless over-the-top, if that makes sense ;D Like simple/easy but so fun/happy/special!

Too funny. I have started privately taking photos of my outfits and I realize I wear some form of white ankle jeans, neutral slides and navy tops 85% of the time. They seem like completely different outfits when I get dressed, but the collected photos make me realize I need to branch out a bit from the uniform. Love all your cute, smocked dresses. I really love that you are incorporating shorts too. Welcome to the South!

The Mermaid Drop just landed today . I got an Emerald Green Ellie Nap Dress today! This is definitely your color Grace! I did break my promise not to buy another one but what can I really say to explain my reasoning? They describe it as a floral print pattern and say there are Space ships and Constellations in there and even magical messages. I see beautiful blue and Green Flowers .I can’t see anything else in the photos . Would be beautiful with the gold shoes! I’m excited !

I am so so excited!!!!I ended up buying three. I feel so guilty but needed the green print finally, and then red is my other favorite summer color. And I had to try the off the shoulder one? Oops. I’m so excited.
