Last Week in Outfits 6.28.21
I had a really nice weekend and hope you did too. This was the perfect blend of hibernation (I read an entire book on Saturday!) and seeing friends and family. I went over a girlfriend’s house on Friday, went to the farmer’s market on Saturday and then a birthday dinner (with reading/couch time in between) and then on Sunday I caught up on work and chores and then my mom and I went to see my dad play the harmonica at a little blues jam. My absolute favorite weekends are the ones with that “nothing urgent to do, nowhere pressing to go” feeling.
The highlight for this week was definitely a very quick (about 26 hours?) trip to Sea Island with Hampden Clothing. I had never been before and really want to go back for longer and spend more time exploring the island. As for this week, I’ll just be working a bunch – I’m heading to LA for a long weekend so want to be ready for that! Have a great week ahead!
Monday
On Monday I worked remotely (went to The Daily, a yummy restaurant/coffee shop in my neighborhood). I wore this Crosby by Molly Burch Dress and my gold birks.
Tuesday
Was just working from home and running a few errands. Wore this Amazon tunic top, my Rag & Bone cut-offs (so old but I still check Poshmark periodically to see if they have inventory… they’re called the Boy Short in the Martini Wash), and my Loeffler Randall gold sandals.
Wednesday
I was in Georgia for a fun event with Hampden Clothing. Hampden styled us for the event… I LOVED my outfit. I wore this sleeveless blazer (sold out) + shorts (with an old Tibi camisole underneath) and these heels from Proenza Schouler.
Friday Day
Working from home! Wore this cute smocked Amazon top (it’s more of a tunic, I just tucked it in – it’s a good one, I have it in white as well) and these fun denim shorts. Both things run very true to size.
Friday Night
A girlfriend hosted girls’ night at her house on Sullivan’s Island. I wore this Farm Rio dress (ob-sessed), and my beloved gold Loeffler Randall slides.
Saturday Day
I met a girlfriend for a trip to the farmers’ market and a Bloody Mary afterward (unintentional but it was hot & humid and we agreed we “deserved” a cocktail. I wore this Farm Rio blouse (also here – this is a FAVORITE staple of summer!), these English Factory shorts (a really good price), and my gold birks.
Saturday Night
Went to dinner for a friend’s birthday. I wore an old H&M dress, and these new wedge espadrilles from Margaux.
Sunday
Went to see my dad play music at his blues jam (he plays the harmonica!). I wore my old Rag & Bone cutoffs again and this top which is definitely a fav (love the print!). It is currently sold out but still available in some sizes here (and also here but it’s bizarrely more expensive on that website).

I enjoyed watching the Tibi live story about supporting small, local businesses and restaurants on St. Simons and beyond. Coastal Georgia’s Golden Isles are wild and special. I hope you will get to go back for a longer stay to explore St. Simons and luxuriate on Sea Island. I loved your Hampden outfit for the event too!
Yes!!! I loved seeing Amy and Griff talk about that too! Dying to get back for longer, it was beautiful and I wanted so badly to stay longer!
The Hampden event outfit is SO GOOD. I die for a little set like that. And the shoes were stunning. May need those in my life!!

an indigo day
Isn’t it so fun? It’s something I’d never have picked out for myself and I love it! I need more short suits in my life!
Where are the gold hoops from?
Ippolita!
Hi, Grace!
This is totally off topic but I wasn’t sure where the best place to ask this question would be.
I’ve have never visited Charleston but have always wanted to. The opportunity popped up yesterday for me to make trip there on July 17th for a few days. Unfortunately, my income took a huge hit the last year due to COVID. I hadn’t even planned on taking in trips in the next year or so as result.
So I’m looking for tips. Is there any possible way to visit Charleston on a budget, including places to stay? Or should I look for somewhere else in the general area to visit instead?
Would love any advice.
Hey Tracy! I wish I had better budget-friendly tips but I’m admittedly not an expert here – most of the places I’ve stayed and eat at are in line with New York prices – which feels crazy, I know! And I haven’t traveled much in the area yet (though I have heard really great things about Ashville so perhaps that’s something to look into.)
I did a quick google of “Charleston on a Budget” and here’s what I found. I feel like it definitely can be done!

Good luck!
