In or Out: New Year’s Eve.

In or Out: New Year's Eve.

Getting dressed for New Year’s Eve is always so much fun. If I am staying home, it’s going to be festive pajamas and slippers (or maybe a fun heel just because), good champagne (plus special glassware!). If I am going out, it’s full on sparkle and shine. Last year, we were in LA and had a big prix fixe meal at one of our favorite restaurants in Santa Monica. This year we will be in Charleston and have tickets to a party at one of our favorite restaurants.

Whether you are going out or staying home, this guide has some really fun options for what to wear. ALSO: last year we put together a pretty mega guide with what to wear to pretty much any NYE scenario, so be sure to check that out as well.

Going Out!

I am pretty sure that I am going to wear a kaftan from La Vie Stylehouse. But there are so many great options. I do need to add that Zara is really killing it. I love this plissé set (top + pants) so much that I ordered it on the spot (Carly on my team sourced these!) and how fun are these silver bow heels!? Also: Banana Republic for the win AGAIN… how gorgeous is this dress!? Another Carly gem; she has been finding the best stuff from Banana. (This, too!)

at home

I mean, you know that staying home is my real true love. I love putting on my favorite fun pajamas, and opening a bottle of the good stuff. Maybe a little caviar if I’m feeling extra fancy. A few years ago, Lalique very generously gifted me a set of these beautiful coupes. They are beyond. But my real favorite are these ultra special hand painted Perrier-Jouet glasses, passed down to me from my parents. (They have a set too!). I found them on Etsy if you are interested; they’re really special. Also on the glassware front: these coupe glasses are amazing and a very good price.

PS – can you even with these under $100 sparkly pajamas from Victoria’s Secret? Carly found them… what a fun find!

I can vouch for that metallic slip dress from Banana Rep — I tried it on in store and it is BEYOND. More beautiful than the photos portray. Also, it’s silver, not gold! I was 8 months pregnant when I tried it on (LOL I couldn’t resist!) but now that I’m postpartum and back to my pre pregnancy size I’m really tempted to purchase. It’s so good.
