Ahhhhhhh I didn’t realize I had such a problem with body wash hoarding til on the podcast when Becca fully called me out over my shower gel obsession. But what can I say – I love being clean and smelling good (don’t we all?) and go wild for a great body wash. But whatever. My latest addiction is Glossier Body Hero. When I ordered Glossier Lash Slick I ended up also ordering the Body Hero Daily Oil Wash and Daily Perfecting Cream as they had such stellar product reviews. And man, was I in for a treat as I have this obsession with any and all things orange blossom – this has an orange blossom + neroli fragrance which is positively divine!
Glossier Ingredients
Before I get into the breakdown of the products I want to review the ingredients overall. I really do try to use mostly natural products on my body as I have my whole crazy surface area rule (I try to only use natural products on my body and I only use natural deodorant, so I don’t feel terrible if I use a high-tech cream or a non-natural mascara, etc). These are not all natural. And while I really respect Emily Weiss and admire what she has built at Glossier, I do question and disagree with her attitude about ingredients (she thinks her customer doesn’t care, as long as the products are effective.) That being said, I was a total gonner the second I smelled these. They smell absolutely incredible.
But yeah it’s important to point out that they are not 100% natural. The Daily Oil Wash is a shower oil and contains Coconut, Meadowfoam, Olive, and Soybean Oils along with Sesame Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, and Grapeseed Oil. It’s super hydrating and also amazing to shave your legs with. The Daily Perfecting Cream contains a hydrating desert plant blend (Cactus Flower, Prickly Pear, Yucca) to hydrate, AHAs, and light-reflecting particles for a flattering glow.nBoth products are made in the USA and free of parabens.

Daily Oil Wash
I love the Daily Oil Wash. It’s honestly like a dream. Shower oils are my favorite (I also adore this one from L’Occitane) as they get skin super clean, hydrate, and are great for shaving.) If you’ve never tried a shower oil I can’t say enough good things – especially if you have dry skin like me. Unlike an oil cleanser for your face, you can apply it to wet skin just like you’d apply a body wash. The idea is that the oil attracts dirt and sweat like a magnet and then sweeps it away as you rinse it off (without stripping the skin barrier or drying it out). This leaves skin super silky and hydrated.
Perfect Cream
The Daily Perfecting Cream is at first blush just a really nice body lotion. It’s rich and creamy and ultra hydrating. But it’s got all these other benefits. For one, it contains tamarind (which is packed with AHAs) to gently smooth and exfoliate. It also contains light-reflecting particles to help flatter and even out your skin tone. These are so so subtle (you won’t be shiny or overly shimmery, your skin will just look really good! It’s my favorite body moisturizer right now – perfect for summer. It absorbs very quickly and leaves skin ultra soft and smooth.
The smell!
The products contain an orange blossom + neroli blend. If anyone at Glossier is reading this, please please consider turning this into a perfume. It’s absolute heaven! Fellow orange blossom obsessees, you are going to be addicted.
Two thumbs up for both of these. I recommend ordering the Body Hero Duo which contains both products, for $5 off!
I’ve never tried Glossier’s products before, but their body hero products sound like a great starting point! Thank you for the review, much appreciated! 🙂

yay so glad you agree!!!!
Haha, my husband asked why I needed to come home with another body wash last week when I already have 4 on the go in the shower, but I just *really* love to shower and douse myself in gorgeous scents (and now I think of you every time I get a new one since listening to the podcast).
And I really wasn’t going to buy into Glossier’s body products, but you sold me at ‘shower oil’ and ‘orange blossom’ (you know my orange blossom / neroli obsession!)

Hahahaha yes yes yes. YOU of all people need to try this one – you are going to die!!!
Alright, just ordered the set. It’s all your fault.

OMG YAY please let me know how you like them!!!
Agree with you that I wish these were all-natural, but the neroli scent is to die for and I love using an oil body wash rather than a soapy, creamier one. I’m always a sucker for Glossier.
Unfortunately, Emily probably is right about the market as a whole not caring about ingredients which sucks because less demand makes it harder for people who do care to find things they love that are non-toxic.

It’s such a bummer! And so conflicting as that scent is just heaven!!
How long does the light reflecting particle glow last? The whole day?
Hey, loved this blog post and have recently developed an (unhealthy) obsession with body lotion, hehe. I’ve been considering getting the glossier body hero body cream since everyone has been talking about how amazing it smells. I just wanted to ask how long does the scent of the lotion usually last or linger? Thanks!
I don’t think it lasts all that long, to be honest! I think it lasts a bit longer if you use the shower oil and body cream together. I wish they made a body hero perfume!
Glossier body hero body oil/wash is one of the best scents ever! It just reminds me of something from childhood I think. If I could find a scent even similar…in a perfume. I agree that I am definitely addicted to this stuff!
