My Favorite Thing to Wear Right Now.

coat // bodysuit // jeans // heels

Oh wow I have so much to tell you with this outfit. For something so simple, I sure have a lot to say but it’s all I want to wear right now – comfortable but still chic and it makes me feel put together without trying too hard, which is what I’ve been going for lately.

First of all, this coat. It is my favorite but a couple years old. I’ve worn it a million times (in all of these posts) but did find a few similar options for you down below in the widget (this one is my personal fav – so good). By Malene Birger is probably my favorite splurge designer. I have a few dresses (this one is the best anytime I have a fancy-ish party and don’t know what to wear), a sweater, and this jacket. Everything I have bought from them I wear over and over again – it’s never ever a mistake. I hate wearing older pieces here as I know it can be annoying for you as readers, but I also want to be realistic. Over time I’ve realized I can’t afford to buy a new wardrobe every season – and even if I could, I wouldn’t want to – it’s wasteful and encourages you guys to make bad spending decisions. So I hope that you (and think you) can appreciate me wearing things over and over again and linking to similar items when that is the case! I love to shop but sometimes I feel like blogging (myself included) can encourage excessive spending and while I’m all for investing in a quality wardrobe I want to be realistic!

Okay so now I sounded all responsible but these jeans are everything. The best jeans ever. If you aren’t stick thin, it can be hard to find “mom” jeans or “cool girl” jeans that fit properly. These are winners. I’ve been recommending Re/Done to anyone and everyone who will listen. I have two pairs (I have these too) and find myself pretty much only alternating between those two pairs. Sizing is pretty true to size. I’m wearing my usual denim size and they’re a little baggy but they’re supposed to be.

And lastly, the jewels. These earrings are so fantastic. I get more compliments on them than pretty much anything else I own. BaubleBar gifts me a lot but I bought these with my own money the second I saw them. They look so much more expensive than they are. This necklace is pretty fab too – it takes the guess work out of layering which I am all for!

Outfit Details: by Malene Birger Trench (love this, linked to a few other great options in the widget at the bottom of the post!) // J.Crew Wrap Bodysuit // Re/Done Denim (also wearing ’em here, here, + here) // Manolo Blahnik Pumps // Chanel Purse // Gentle Monster Sunglasses // BaubleBar Earrings // BaubleBar Fine Layered Necklace (c/o) // J.Crew Belt (literally at least ten years old but this is similar!)

Things have been non-stop since I got home on Monday night! Last night I was up late working and getting my apartment ready… One of my favorite websites ever is coming to shoot my apartment today for a home tour feature and I could not be more excited about it. I’m still a little in shock that it’s happening. Hope you guys are having a great week. 🙂

Your trench coat is beautiful, I love the colour of it! The weather is still cold where I live so I can wear trench coats too, perfect. 🙂

As an absolute denim addict, I completely agree – Redone is the very best! I also have 2 pairs and they are pretty much all I ever want to wear. Also, so excited for your shoot with the Coveteur – can’t wait to see!

Love everything about this look! Colorful coats are the best with an otherwise neutral outfit. Obsessed with those earrings too!

LOOOVE Malene Birger. Her pieces are the best, perfectly simple and chic, beautifully tailored. And I feel like she’s a bit under the radar in the US, so you don’t see yourself coming and going. I have had some luck finding her pieces on The Outnet, which helps with the splurginess factor.

      Totally agree!!!!
I’ve found a few good ones on the Outnet too. This trench was on there last year (a year after I’d paid full price!)
