Fall’s Best Tops.

Fall's Best Tops

Great tops can be hard to find, especially for someone like me who typically gravitates more toward dresses. Lately, I’ve actually found myself drawn separates over dresses. My collection of button-downs has grown immensely, and I love a cozy sweater even if I am using it as an accent piece (draped over my shoulders, etc.!). Today’s post is an edit of the tops Carly and I love most. You’ll notice many button-downs, chocolate brown, and even a hint of leopard (it’s back!).

Fall’s best tops

Grace:

As I mentioned above, I got very into oversized button-downs this year. Most days, I wear either a striped T-shirt or an easy button-down. Usually, I pair them with jeans. Otherwise, it’s a draped pant in either linen or fluid jersey. I’m craving more button-down shirts this season, and I LOVE this one from Sezane. I took my usual size, and it’s perfect. It’s a little oversized but still slightly more tailored than my go-to Max shirt. I have been feeling denim on denim looks big time, and this is a fabulous denim top. For a more polished look, I absolutely love (just ordered!) this cardigan (it’s so elegant). Of course, there are always stripes. I love this more structured striped tee and these chartreuse stripes!

Carly:

As someone who thrives in colder weather, I love tailored tops and cozy cardigans for fall. Last season was the first time I felt like I was really able to explore my personal style, playing around with funky button-downs and structured sweaters that keep me warm without making me feel frumpy. I’ve got to say that this shrunken polo is my top pick from this roundup. Tibi has been on my list of brands to watch, and I just love that the asymmetrical placket adds just enough interesting detail while remaining a good basic. I’m also loving the curves and shape of this rib-knit top. I’m dying to pair either of these options with a patterned midi skirt and some knee-high boots. The wash of this denim top is just too good, and of course, this knitted top is perfect for us Charleston folks who are so desperate for cooler temps!

I get more wears out of tops and sweaters than I do dresses, so I love this post! God is in the details!
