Plot-heavy books that will keep you up all night. How to gracefully change the subject. Everything coming to Netflix in December. How Colleen Hoover took over Hollywood. The best books about fashion. I am a blazer girl through and through. Lately (as with the above outfit) I’ve really enjoyed giving my more summery dresses a fall look (just add suede boots and a great blazer), but they are an everyday staple to pair with jeans, flowy silk pants, everything really. Blazers are an item of clothing where the quality tends to really show, so they are something I feel more comfortable investing in. My top two brands for blazers are Blaze Milano (very expensive, but I’ve had quite a bit of luck on The RealReal and Vestiare Collective) and Veronica Beard (just got this and love it, also, they have great sales)!
Time’s list of the year’s must-read books. How to get that “Ralph Lauren Christmas” aesthetic on a budget. Eldest daughter syndrome. Some beautiful home tours. A grapefruit/beet/burrata salad (this combo sounds tantalizing?) Makeup tips for the over-40 set (studying this!). Spring’s best accessory trends, how burnout is actually a body problem (not just a mental one). Shopping finds, plus loads more links.
We’ve both had gifting on the brain. Over on Substack, we’ve released our first six guides (so definitely pop over if you haven’t! However, when I reflect on some of the best gifts I’ve received, they are often older treasures. I collect antique perfume bottles, and my mom always finds me the most beautiful Art Deco-style bottles. Carly got me a stunning abalone pitcher for Christmas last year. A girlfriend gave me a matchbox in my family’s silver (Repoussé) pattern. In the spirit of that, I asked Carly to make today’s finds a mini gift guide, and I love what she found. I know I’d love to add this mirror and box to my vanity, and how cool are these tulip candlesticks!?
I’ve said this before, but I thrive on being as organized as possible. Especially during the holiday season, which is my busiest time of year both with work and socially speaking! I love being as organized as possible. Case in point: my perfectly put-together closet in my first Charleston apartment. The folding, the shoes organization: it speaks to my soul! But I also had a “shame room” in that apartment. Decidedly less curated. I really see my house as my sanctuary. If everything isn’t in its place, I feel off.
