Biossance Squalane + Copper Peptide Rapid Plumping Serum Review

I am so excited about today’s blog post. SO. excited. You know how much I love Biossance, and their newest launch, their Squalane + Copper Peptide Rapid Plumping Serum is incredible. I had the good fortune of receiving a bottle about a month early so that I could properly test it out to write my review and WOW – this is the best new beauty launch I have tried in ages. If you have dry skin, you will absolutely love this product. We are going to talk about what it is, why it works, and how to use it below but first I want to give a little refresher on Biossance just in case you are new!

I like to highlight Biossance’s key ingredient… it’s in this serum and in all of the rest of their products… SQUALANE. Biossance’s squalane is one of the things that a) makes their products so effective but b) makes me love them even more as a brand… they are a really good company, doing great things for the planet. The body produces its own version (known as squalene). But as we age, our body’s ability to produce and retain squalene decreases.  Squalane is traditionally harvested from shark livers (awful!) which has a devastating impact on the environment.

Biossance has found a way to derive their 100% plant-based squalane sustainably, from sugarcane. Squalane is in all of their products, and it is a weightless oil that instantly locks in moisture. That’s one of the reasons I love their lactic acid and phyto-retinol so much; the products are ultra-effective without drying out your skin.

ALSO we have a great sale!

Biossance Squalane + Copper Peptide Rapid Plumping Serum

What it is:

This is a powerful hydrating serum. You will notice an instant plumping effect and hydration.

Why it works:

Copper peptides help to boost collagen production, and Biossance’s rapid plumping complex (including my FAV hyaluronic acid, Biossance’s proprietary squalane, and polyglutamic acid). It draws in moisture while flooding the skin with continuous hydration. Skin is left bouncy and plump!

How to use it:

This should be your first step after cleansing and toning (I love Biossance’s Squalane + BHA Toner, by the way!). You can use Biossance’s other serums over it but think of this as your base layer to plump up the skin with an extra shot of moisture. Take one full dropper of the serum and massage it into the skin. I like to use my fingers to really press the serum into the skin.

I will add that if you have dry skin, this pairs really well with Biossance’s Squalane + Omega Repair Cream (a really great rich & creamy moisturizer). The perfect duo for plumped up, ultra hydrated skin!

I was excited to try this, but your coupon doesn’t work on this new product.

Hi! Yeah, there are a bunch of exclusions. It’s still a great value as it contains small sizes of all the other serums too!

Thank you so much for your detailed skincare recs, I am trying to revamp my skincare routine as I am about to turn 30 and I have been consulting your blog religiously! I finally gave in and bought a bunch of things during the Biossance sale and I am so excited to have a new routine. Quick question about the copper peptide serum – when do you use this? Morning or night, every day? I am also using both the Biossance Lactic Acid and the vitamin C dark spot serum, so I’m just trying to figure out how many times a week to use each product. Thanks in advance, your advice has been so helpful so far!

Hi Anne! I use it right after toner. You can use the dark spot serum over it if you’d like!

I’m a little confused about the sequence of layering. Is this the right order for every morning and night? The resurfacing I only use only at night but everything else I listed is every morning and night.

    eye cream
    peptide
    Vitamin c spot serum
    resurfacing crean (at night only)
    omega repair cream
    vitamin C rose oil

At what point do i use the squaline oil in my routine if i want to?

This looks right to me though I wouldn’t do the vitamin c spot serum AND the resurfacing!
The squalaane oil would go last, but if you are already using the vitamin C oil you definitely do not need both.
