Biossance’s Amazing Black Friday Offer.

My Biossance Favorites

I could not be more excited to team up with one of my absolute favorite skincare brands, Biossance! If you’re a long time reader, you know how much I love Biossance… this is my first time partnering with them, which is a huge honor. As background, Biossance is an incredible clean brand. Their products are formulated without parabens, synthetic fragrances and over 2,000 ingredients that are potentially toxic or questionable, ensuring only the highest standards for skincare that is clean, safe, sustainable and effective. All Biossance products are proudly vegan, cruelty-free, and EWG-verified.

Their power ingredient is Squalane. Squalane is in all of their products and it is a weightless oil that instantly locks in moisture. That’s one of the reasons I love their lactic acid and phyto-retinol so much; the products are ultra effective without drying out your skin. Biossance uses a special squalane. You may know that squalane is traditionally harvested from shark livers (yikes), but Biossance’s squalane is actually 100% plant-based – sustainably derived from sugarcane!

This year’s Black Friday promotion is 30% off all products sitewide, making it Biossance’s BIGGEST discount offer ever. This is BIG!

My Biossance Favorites

I have a lot of favorites to talk about. I don’t want this to get toooooo long, but below are my personal Biossance favs! Also if you search Biossance in the search bar, even more reviews will pop up.

My Biossance Favorites!

Squalane + Lactic Acid Resurfacing Night Serum

This is hands down, my favorite Biossance product. If you buy one thing from the sale, I would say to make it this. It’s my favorite acid, and what I love is that it delivers smoother, glowy skin in literally ONE NIGHT. What makes it special and different from other acids on the market is that it also contains that squalane, which allows for powerful exfoliation and smoothing without drying out the skin. You will notice a massive difference the next day. I make sure to use it 2-3x a week.

Squalane + Phyto-Retinol Serum

This is hands down, my favorite plant-based retinol alternative. I have talked about it several times here on the blog but it contains Bakuchiol and niacinamide (another fav ingredient to target fine lines, wrinkles, and sun damage.. visibly fighting the signs of aging without any irritation. I like to use this 2-3x a week and the lactic acid 2-3x a week.

Squalane and Elderberry Jelly Cleanser

I am not someone who gets super excited about cleanser. It’s on your face for so little time, ya know? BUT this is a good one and it’s a nice price too (only $28). It takes all my makeup off without stripping the skin so there is no tightness afterward. I also love the texture!

Squalane and Omega Repair Cream

This is an ultra rich, luxurious moisturizer. The perfect antidote for dry, winter skin. I like to use it over the lactic acid serum or phyto-retinol serum (let either one sink in for 15-20 minutes) for MAX hydration.

Squalane and Marine Algae Eye Cream

This is one of my favorite eye creams. I’ve talked about it in several blog posts now, but what I love about it is how hydrating it is, and that it delivers a lifted look, almost immediately. It’s an Allure Best of Beauty winner for good reason!

This gift set

I featured Biossance’s Let it Glow set in my Under $25 gift guide and it’s such an amazing value ($63 in product, for only $25!). It has travel sizes of both the Vitamin C Oil and the Lactic Acid serum and is such a great price.

My Biossance Favorites

And I’m really excited to tell you about a special bundle I created with Biossance! This is NOT a part of their Black Friday sale but the savings is incredible. My set includes full size versions of the lactic acid serum and marine algae eye cream, AND a travel size version of their amazing Phyto-Retinol Serum.

What I like about my bundle is that it’s perfect for someone who is dipping their toe into the world of anti-aging. It’s perfect for someone just starting to use an eye cream, acids, and retinols (which in my opinion, besides SPF) are the three things you really need to build out an anti-aging routine.

Ordinarily the three together would retail for $145, but my set is $94… a 35% savings!

Yay thanks Grace! Was just on their site last night feeling a little overwhelmed so this is perfect. I got the oil and lactic acid set from the Sephora sale per your rec and now I want it ALL. So so good. I think I’m going to go with your set! Thank you 🙂

Hi Grace! Is this the retinol you said was safe during pregnancy?

    • grace at the stripe:

Hey Miller! For legal reasons I never feel comfortable making claims like this BUT here’s the official response taken from the Biossance website – my net takeaway is yes, but talk to a doctor.

Is Squalane + Phyto-Retinol Serum safe to use during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Because our Squalane + Phyto-Retinol Serum does not contain any retinol or retinoids, it does not have the same issues that cause women to have to stop using it. As with any skincare product, we recommend checking with your doctor before using while pregnant or breastfeeding.

I believe you would use the retinol and acid on opposite nights, is that correct? Just want to make sure! I never know what to use on the nights I’m not using retinol so this would be perfect!

    • grace at the stripe:

Yes! I do the lactic acid 2-3x a week, retinol 2-3x a week, and just moisturize the other nights.

I LOVE Biossance! The Facebook group actually persuaded me to try it after I asked if anyone with rosacea had a face oil they loved and after switching to Biossance Squalane Oil, I never looked back. I also got the Phyto-Retinol, then the Lactic Acid…I am a full convert!

The Omega Repair cream looks so nice. After using their products, I know I am getting something that feels so good. None of their products aggravate my rosacea and I actually think my overall skin quality has improved. Thank you for introducing me to Biossance!

PS: I realize this post sounds a little evangelical but I’m 50 – it takes a lot for skincare to wow me with results at this point and Biossance delivers.

I know you’re a fan of the Tata Harper Resurfacing Face Mask, but how do you feel their other products compare to Biossance? As someone who also has dry skin, that gets even more dry in the winter, I’m curious to hear what you think.

    Thanks!

I don’t really use any Tata products besides the mask these days. Her products are good but expensive. Though I do loooove the cleansing oil. I find Biossance and Farmacy to be similar quality, with equally great ingredients, at a better price point.

Can you tell me what robe you were wearing on your ig stories talking about biossance today? It looks like maybe the parachute waffle robe, but it just looks so cozy but not super bulky. I am short and therefore have short arms so I feel like anytime I wear a cozy robe I can’t do anything because the sleeves are so long and bulky that I can’t roll them up. It drives me crazy, but I crave the coziness of a robe. All of that to say, can you tell me if you can roll the sleeves up? LOL sorry for the long winded robe rant.

How does the serum compare with Farmacy honeymoon glow? Working my way through a bottle right now, but other than the tingle can’t tell if it’s working…

    Thanks!

Love Biossance from your past recommendations! I use the rose oil daily and alternate between their lactic acid and Olay’s retinol at night, but I’ve run out of the Olay! Would you recommend Olay’s Retinol24 or Biossance’s phyto-retinol? Or even getting it from a derm instead? Thank you!!

    11.24.20 Reply
    • grace at the stripe:

Ooh that is tricky! Are you mostly a clean beauty person? Because in that case I would recommend trying the Phyto-Retinol. I do think the Olay is maybe a little bit more effective (but not necessarily as gentle), but the Biossance is totally clean and really gentle (while still providing powerful anti-aging benefits!). Honestly you cannot go wrong with either.

Thank you!! I’ll probably still with Olay for now that, get that extra little something 🙂

What do you recommend for a daily moisturizer? I’m 38, so something that is anti-aging would be ideal. I’ve tried several different brands and haven’t found anything I love.

It depends on your skin type! I have very dry skin and love a really rich moisturizer – maybe the Squalane and Omega Repair Cream?

As always, love and trust your honest reviews! How do you feel the lactic acid serum compares to beautycounter’s overnight resurfacing peel? I’m a fan of both BC and biossance products, so just looking for your thoughts!

I think they are pretty interchangeable. I really like them both and would say that the results are pretty similar. The Biossance tingles a little less (I said this about Honeymoon Glow too) but provides those same amazing smoothing benefits.

Well my face will thank you, even if my wallet will not! I tried a 2-set minis sample of the squalene phyto-retinol and the night serum. Really loved them both and my face adjusted after two uses. I had to wait a week in between, but i’m so glad I stuck with it! I bought two sets that honestly were great deals AND the purchase came with a 10 piece mini gift. Lucky me for being a procrastinator and waiting till today to buy. I’m so excited to get my products and try a bunch of their other items. I credit you by a large part for helping perfect my skin routine during quarantine (still can’t pull the trigger on Bader though – I know!). So basically, thank you Grace!!!

Love the lactic acid and just ordered the retinol. How do you work in Bader?! Right now I use it on the nights I don’t use the lactic so as to follow the “put it on a clean face”. Are you using it over the the acid and retinol?
