Makeup for Idiots.

Makeup for Idiots by Grace Atwood

HAPPY SUNDAY. I just posted an Instagram TV video with a little beauty tutorial for how I got ready for the Sephora Squad launch party in LA. It’s highly technical and very very professional. 😉

Makeup has never been my greatest strength but over the years I’ve assembled an arsenal of easy to use, hard to f*ck up products that I rely on for getting ready. Epecially if I’m doing my own makeup for a big event which was the case on Wednesday night! Watch the video for the how-to. And below you can find everything I used in one place!

Makeup for Idiots – Products Used:

Charlotte Tilbury Soft Focus Wonder Glow Primer/Highlighter (use it UNDER foundation)

Wander Beauty Nude Illusion Foundation (color is light)

BeautyBlender (my everything)

NARS Radiance Booster

Benefit Hoola Bronzer

NARS Orgasm

NARS Brow Pencil

Bobbi Brown Crystal Drama Palette (best eye palette ever. I literally JUST bought it and it is sold out everywhere UGH but this one is very similar)

NARS Eye Shadow Brush

Wander Beauty Mile High Mascara (this is the one I used but if we are being honest, I prefer Wander’s original mascara to this one. In fairness, the original is REALLY hard to improve upon; it’s one of the best mascaras I’ve ever tried. But I wanted to test the new one so brought it with me to LA.)

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lipstick (the best nude/pink lipstick in all of the land. If you don’t use it you are doing life all wrong!)

*This post and video are not sponsored; though I do have a year long paid contract with Sephora. I just wanted to share my getting ready process from the party. And it felt wrong to go to a Sephora party using products they didn’t sell! I will always disclose which posts are paid posts!

Excited to watch this! I’m definitely an idiot when it comes to makeup… I barely know what foundation is, haha!

I went to buy the Crystal Drama palette last weekend, and was SO bummed to find it sold out at Sephora and Bobbi Brown (wah!!). Crossing my fingers that they’ll bring it back…the colors are so lovely! I’m also a huge fan of the Wander Beauty (original) mascara. I get such great lift with it!

I’m so mad that it sold out!
I did see it on Amazon but it’s like double or triple the price.

You kill me Grace :’D I’ve been doing my own makeup for years and everytime there’s a new technique or look to try I always want to do it and think it’s gonna turn out amazing but obviously it doesn’t haha I’m not the best at makeup and over the years I’ve been finding products for foolproof looks as well. I want to try Charlotte Tilbury so bad but I’m so cheap I haven’t been able to commit to it yet (mostly because of the shipping, the brand isn’t available in my country). By the way, have you ever tried the brand Catrice? They’re a drugstore brand and the products can be a hit or miss but some of the stuff I’ve tried (like the camouflage concealer and the HD liquid coverage foundation, both work well on my combination skin, they’d work great on oily skin, the concealer works fine on dry skin, don’t think the foundation would though) are better than some high-end ones I’ve tried and some people I’ve talked to say the same. I’ve heard the lipsticks are good too but I haven’t tried them yet, I’ve banned myself from getting any more lip products until I get rid of some of the ones I have and I’m not doing that haha

Can you wear augustinus badner rich cream at night and 3 different seums, etc in morning? Will be hard to break old habit of a 6 step morning routine.
