There are a few people in my life who are, not going to name names or anything… really darn hard to shop for! You want to send something thoughtful and special… but you just don’t know what! Or you’re worried you’ll send the wrong color or size. Eesh. And then there are gifters (aka ME) who sometimes forget to go out and buy a gift in time and then feel like the biggest idiot.
Kate Spade New York x GiftNow
Today I’m going to share a really cool complimentary service that Kate Spade New York uses, and I hope other retailers will follow suit! Meet GiftNow. Kate Spade New York has teamed up with GiftNow so that you can easily gift someone special without necessarily knowing all of the personal details, size or color preferences, or shipping address. You can even add a personal greeting! I’m going to share how it works below.
Let’s say that Tyrion (my cat) has decided to do some shopping for me, his mom. What a thoughtful son!
He goes onto the Kate Spade New York site and decides he wants to get me one of their new Cats crossbody bags. But he isn’t sure if I want it in white, pink, or black. He also has no idea what my address is, because he’s a cat.
He can plug in all my info with a personal greeting. Then he chooses whether to send it right away, or later!
He (so thoughtfully!) schedules my gift and then I get an email. How amazing!
I then can go in and “open” and unwrap my gift online, adjust it, and choose my color. Obviously, I chose white as it looks the most like Tyrion. I enter my mailing address. BUT if I didn’t want the cat purse, I could exchange the item for something else I really love. This is the ultimate solution to gift giving… it truly ensures your recipient receives something they really love!
And that’s it… The gift arrives in the mail.
Seamless, straightforward, and most importantly, something that I (the recipient) really want, in the color I want.
This feels so much more personal and thoughtful than giving a gift card. I just love that you can use it to get someone something they’ll really love without knowing all the personal details!

Thanks Charmaine!
I love this concept! I can sit down when I actually have free time and schedule gifts to be sent on time. Genius idea for people who want to be thoughtful but don’t always have the time, like me 🙂 and I love the purse it really elevates the outfit!
AGREED, and thank you!!!
Umn, this is genius. Why aren’t more brands doing this?! Thanks for the heads up 🙂
and of course I mean “um” not “umn.”
I know! Everyone should!!!
I don’t know – kind of love it, kind of hate it. It seems even a bit less personal than a gift card to me but I do see how someone could like it especially for clothing items. I really do enjoy giving and getting a physical gift, that’s wrapped, etc.
That’s so interesting to me! Think it depends on the person. I would think it more personal if someone were to say, send me the cat bag or the glitter heels and let me choose my size/color/etc. But to each their own!
Love this take on sponsored content, Grace! This was so fun to read and I really love the idea of GiftNow – they already have some pretty cool retail partners!
