A Few Pretty Things for Spring... spring outfits and accessories

Today I’m sharing a little wish list with some pretty spring things I’ve either bought or have my eye on. I will admit that I have definitely been doing more shopping than usual and I think that’s because of the warmer weather here in Charleston, and also being excited to travel again! It’s time to retire the tie-dye and dress up cute again… I’m READY!

A Few Pretty Things for Spring…

Swimsuits are a big priority (and gah – so hard!!!!) I have heard good things about Aerie’s swimwear and I ordered this fun leopard one piece. I ordered a few more suits from them and will let you know what I end up keeping. BUT I would really, really love any great swimsuit recs you may have. Everything I like seems to have a “cheeky” cut which is just not for me. The other priority is shorts. Two that I have and love are these cutoffs (they run big though – go down a size or even two!) and these cute little black and white shorts.

Some other things I bought and love:

This leopard wrap skirt (it is fabulous – pair with a black cami, a white tee, or a fun puff sleeve blouse). And of course: the nap dress. I love mine so much. I saw that the navy blue one is back and ordered it on the spot. So pretty and just so easy, especially in the heat… it’s about to get HOT down here. Also, Tory Burch cardigans are the best. I bought this one during the Shopbop sale and adore the tonal buttons. Lastly, this little Madewell dress is even better in person.

On the handbag/accessory front, I really don’t need another tote but I am dying for this green and white stripe one. Very very on brand? And not a new purchase but an old favorite that I reach for year after year: my Palmgrens rattan tote! It’s maybe my favorite handbag, and I swear it gets better with age.

You’re gonna love the Aerie swim, they’re not super cheeky at all! Also loving that green striped bag. Perfect for the beach!

I think the Summersalt suits live up to the hype. Look up the Tie Blackflipped or Ruched Blackflip – both have totally full butt coverage but still cute and sexy. Also the fabric is like a good pair of yoga pants – smooths everything out and makes you look great!

It’s so fun to get excited about getting dressed again! As far as bathing suits go, I am firmly in the solid, black or navy, strapless one-piece camp. I think they are timeless, chic, flattering to my over 40 body and practical (no strap lines and I’m not worried about my top or bottom spilling out). Plus, they look cute and don’t clash with patterned wraps and coverups. I’ve had good luck buying them from Anne Cole, Tommy Bahama, and Lands End. Happy spring/summer shopping!

Love these! I’m finally planning some tentative travel now that I’m vaccinated (NYC and maybe Palm Springs?) and I love your shopping roundups for ideas! Those raffia earrings are already in my cart. Actually would you ever do a roundup post for statement earrings? I love the dangly green ones you’ve worn in a few recent posts and you always have such good recs!

I’m really loving the smocked dresses that are popular this year. I am really hoping Madewell restocks their plus sizes so I can pick one up.
