Happy Monday. I’m back in Charleston after a fun weekend in New York.
I was only there for 48 hours. did a lot. A few dinners, cocktails at Bemelman’s… niece time, an engagement party… it was fun! It was weird and a little emotional to be back. That’s probably normal, I feel like the first time back in a city where you lived for so long (15 years!!) and have so many memories is going to be a little hard. I do wish I had stayed for a third night – I have furniture arriving today though. Luckily (and something I remind myself of often), the flight is so easy… I’m planning to try to go back every two months to see friends, take meetings for work, etc!
My dad picked me up from the airport (so nice) and then we had dinner and now I am back home, writing this post and watching 2 Hearts on Netflix (very cute though I feel like it may turn out to be a tearjerker). Also: how pretty are these flowers? They are from my mom’s garden. One very nice perk of living close to my parents is that my mom brings me homegrown flowers on the reg. It’s so special.
A Beachy Brand I Love, Pretty Knives, the new RomComPods and More Good Things
The Coast Brand
I bought a few things from The Coast Brand (a small Charleston biz!) after seeing them on my friend Liz and really like them! Such pretty things and the gauze fabric is so soft and easy and breathable in this heat. My favorite thing that I got was probably this top. It’s really well made and the fit is great.
Cadence Travel Capsules
I was given a few of these capsules in a gift bag and now I am thinking that I may need to buy a full set – they are such a good idea! These magnetic capsules snap together and hold all your travel essentials, be it vitamins or pills, lotions and potions, jewelry, whatever. Perfect for travel, the office or gym, and so on and so forth. They look good, don’t take up a ton of space, and keep you nice and organized (I love that you can have them labeled).
Our Place’s Beautiful Knives and Cutting Board
You know how much I love my Our Place Pan (you can read my initial non-sponsored review of it here, and also this post!). It’s the prettiest pan ever, it’s so easy to clean, it’s just perfect. Well, now Our Place has a big new launch – knives (in colors that match the pan, swoon) and a cutting board.
I already have good knives and a cutting board I love but I am sorely tempted. I have a code with Our Place – THESTRIPE10 will get you 10% off sitewide, including these. Also: they sell a bundle of all three knives (save $30) or a bundle of all the knives and the cutting board (save $35).
RomComPods Showmance
If you are looking for a little candy for your ears, today is the day: RomComPods’ just launched their third season… Showmance! I am so thrilled for Becca and Rachael – this season is definitely the best one yet (I got a little sneak peek) and the cast is incredible. I mean… Lance Bass… what!?! Head to Apple Podcasts or wherever you listen to podcasts (Spotify etc!) and download it now!

I did! Thanks!!
Where is the vase from you photo by Clay Austin from? I love it!
It’s my mom’s! She said it came with some flowers she was gifted (from a florist). Sorry that’s not very helpful, I’m sure a bit of googling could find something similar though.
Hi Grace & Kristin. I think I have that same vase. A friend sent me flowers and that vase from UrbanStems. I think the name of the vase is the WhiteTegan. If you sign up for their emails, you can get a discount on the first order & the flowers are beautiful. I’ve given as gifts since I received mine.

Thanks Marty! So helpful!!!
ok so i’m not easily impressed by a lot of startups – but i took one look at cadence’s website. oh. my. god. what a GENIUS idea. like i have no words. thanks for the plug! i look forward to getting a set one day – though a bit pricey 🙂
Right? It’s such a clever idea.
Grace, I don’t know if I can watch 2 hearts. Just reading the outline of it and that it is based on a true story is making me cry. You better have kleenex handy.
I KNOW. I only watched half as I needed to go to sleep but it feels like I’m gonna cry
I think it’s always emotional returning to a city you lived in for a while, especially if it was during a “growing-up” time. Eventually, you’ll be shocked at how much the city changes and probably won’t even recognize it anymore… that’s exciting!
Have a great week, Grace!

Thanks Em!
I love that white vase; where did you get it?
it’s my mom’s! But read the rest of the comments, a reader helped!
Those travel capsules look really handy. I have a couple of trips in late summer and I could use something like this. I actually need new everything for travel, including a suitcase and carry-on. Do you have a carry-on that you love for short trips?
This post may be helpful – I love my carry-on but unfortunately it’s super old! https://thestripe.com/whats-in-my-carry-on-bag/
