My Favorite Pan is on Sale!
If you have followed me a while now, you already know that The Always Pan from Our Place is hands down, my absolute favorite pan in the world. I posted a review of the pan back in December, and it remains my favorite. I initially purchased it in the Steam color (the perfect neutral) which I still have and love, but they just sent me the brand new Terracotta shade as part of our collaboration. The Terracotta shade is inspired by baked earth and I think I like it even more than the Steam. It’s beautiful!
There are so many things I love about my Always Pan (besides the obvious: it is a gorgeous pan… so pretty that you can leave it out on the stove), but mostly it’s the versatility: I cook everything in it from eggs to grilled cheese and paninis to stir fry dishes and even steak. And it is SO easy to clean up – it wipes clean with a paper towel!
If you are looking for the perfect Mother’s Day gift, I cannot recommend this pan enough. (I bought one for my mom for Christmas and she loves it, and I also bought one for my best friend, who in turn bought one for her mom!)
Right now, Our Place is running their Mother’s Day Sale!
Through May 4th, you can take $30 off the Always Pan with promo code GOODTASTE30 ! To ensure that it arrives in time for Mother’s Day, order by 4/30 (Ground shipping) or 5/3 (Express shipping). After Mother’s Day, you can take 10% off everything but gift cards with code THESTRIPE10 – one use per customer. (note: codes cannot be stacked!)
I loved learning a little bit more about the inspiration behind the new color from Our Place’s founder, Shiza Shahid:
“In my childhood, I visited the archeological digs of the Indus Valley Civilization in Pakistan, one of the earliest civilizations. I was in awe of their terracotta cooking vessels — thousands of years old and in a striking palette of burnt orange hues. I understood then all that cooking represents: our intellect, creativity, identity, and soul. Growing food in the earth and transforming it through cooking is a uniquely and universally human experience. When I see this Terracotta Always Pan, I am reminded of all the ways in which home-cooking connects us across traditions and through time.”
To celebrate the launch of the new Terracotta Always Pan, on their instagram page Our Place will be sharing stories and recipes from farmers, foragers, and makers, including environmental activist Jenny Ong, who is making crispy tomato fried rice with herbs from her garden, and Alexis Nikole of Black Forager, who is making the Cape Verdean rice and beans dish, jagacida. YUM.
This pan is perfect for one pot meals like the sweet & sour noodle ramen I made above.
It also comes with a steamer basket which is amazing for veggies and dumplings. And the built in spoon rest keeps counters mess free. The pan is also non-toxic and formulated without Teflon. I LOVE the non-toxic, nonstick ceramic coating (BEST nonstick pan I’ve ever owned). And there are no PFAS, PFOAS, PTFEs, lead, cadmium, toxic metals or potentially harmful materials. It’s designed for essentially 8-in-1 uses: as a skillet, non-stick pan, sauté pan, fry pan, colander, steamer, saucier, and spoon rest!
A few notes on caring for your Always Pan from Our Place!
Treat it with care. I personally just wipe mine out with a paper towel after cooking in it. If it needs more than that, let it soak a bit and then hand wash it with a gentle sponge so that the non-stick coating will last for years to come. Avoid putting it in the dishwasher.
Lastly it’s recommended to cook on low to medium heat and not high. And do not put this pan inside the oven!
Our Place also has beautiful dishes and glassware. I love these glasses, these bowls, and these plates (all pictured in the photos here). And just like with the thoughtful attention to detail that went into the pan, these are thoughtfully constructed as well: I really love that they are all stackable which saves space in my cabinets.
