5 Things I Won’t Shut Up About.

Hook & Albert

We are back with another little round-up of things I really love right now. One of the things I love most about running a blog is that element of discovery and sharing… finding cool new things that I really love, with the hopes that you guys will love them too! So without further ado, here are 5 things that I won’t (for lack of a better word) shut up about.

one // First up is Hook & Albert! They make CHIC travel bags but what makes them so special is that the bags unzip so that when you lay them flat, you have a garment bag. BRILLIANT. To me, this bag is especially great for a weekend wedding getaway where you want to pack everything in one bag but also have hanging items. Voila – a bag that holds it all! This is an amazing invention.

Girlfriend Collective Leggings and Bras made from soda cans!

two // Girlfriend Collective. Oh my god you guys, this is big as up until now I almost only wore Outdoor Voices and RARELY wore color to the gym, to the point where my friends teased me about my all black and grey ensembles.

While in Sweden, my friend Danielle had the cuuuuutest powder blue outfit on. I got the details from her and immediately placed an order while I was still in Sweden. When I got home, the comfiest , cutest outfit was waiting for me. The fabric is so soft, and I love the color! So the clothes are amazing but then I learned more about the brand and loved them even more. First, the inclusive sizing (everything is available in XXS – XXXL), and second the, the fact that every pair of leggings is made out of recycled water bottles! (You can learn more about their process here, but I just think that is so, so cool.) My personal favs are the high-rise leggings and the Topanga bra.

que collapsible water bottle

three // A collapsible water bottle. I got this water bottle in a gift bag at an event and am just so obsessed with it! If you travel frequently, you will love this- it barely takes up any space in your suitcase and then boom, there you go… it expands to a full size water bottle when you get to your destination. This came in so handy when I was in Sweden for my yoga retreat!

SodaStream Source Sparkling Water Maker,

four // My Soda Stream. Okay this is so so random and definitely not anything new but I will talk to anyone who will listen about how much I love my Soda Stream, mostly because I can’t believe it took me so long to get one! I drink a LOT of seltzer and was feeling very guilty about all of the cans I go through. I use this almost every day now and feel slightly better about the amount of bottles and cans I go through every week.

summer fridays overtime mask review the stripe

five // Summer Fridays Overtime Mask. Mmkay I was/am obsessed with the Summer Fridays Jet Lag  Mask. It’s probably in my top 5. SO GOOD. This one is just as impressive but whereas the Jet Lag mask is incredibly nourishing, the Overtime mask is perfect for sloughing off dead cells and impurities. They make a pretty great double-masking combo. Use this one first to exfoliate and then hydrate with the Jet Lag mask afterward!

Omg yes the SodaStream! My parents got one when we were kids (for more soda purposes) but, now, it is exclusively our seltzer water dispenser! I also love that you can refill the carbonation canisters at your hardware store for maximum sustainability.

I’ve never made soda with my soda stream (only seltzer) but it’s the best!!!

I loved this little roundup post! It’s the first time I’ve heard of Girlfriend Collective, but their items look cute! And the Hook & Albert bag you have looks so sleek! I love it! Thanks for the recommendation! 🙂

I have a question about the soda stream that might be really dumb- do you use it only with flavoring or just on its own for some bubbles? I’m always hesitant to add any kind of sweetener but I love me a good seltzer

Hi Caroline, I just make seltzer with mine. They sell flavorings but I’ve never tried them… I just make plain old bubbly water.

I add a couple of fresh or frozen berries (raspberries work great!) and/or a squeeze of citrus with my soda stream. If you muddle it a little in the bottom of your glass, it works really well and takes two seconds for lots of flavor.

I only workout in black leggings too, but I’ve really wanted to try the colorful OV and girlfriend collective leggings but I’m worried about sweat. Thoughts on sweat wicking/showing with the girlfriend collective tights? I’ve been doing BBG and HIIT type workouts and don’t want to look like I peed my pants! Lol. Thanks!

Yessss! I was going to ask about quality of Girlfriend Collective for more high intensity workouts

Hi Katie, I don’t really sweat very much and I mostly run outdoors and do yoga so I can’t speak super well to the sweat factor but a lot of the girls in my studio wear Girlfriend Collective and I’ve never seen sweat stains. So I don’t really know if this answers the question but I think that you’ll be fine with either option!

Grace – thanks for the honest response! I’d love a future post about functionality of cute workout gear if you do get into sweaty workouts though!

Of course. Also, I just realized, I did used to take Y7 which you get pretty sweaty in. Never had an issue with Outdoor Voices. Honestly I think you’ll be fine with both.

Well, Grace, per usual, I don’t NEED any of these things yet somehow, all of my carts are full!

This water bottle is brilliant. I had one similar that I used a ton during study abroad and it’s missing so this would be great as I tend to dread lugging around my HydroFlask which becomes counter intuitive as I end up buying more single use bottles.

Soda stream is on my Christmas list for sure, I may even leave it at the office where having a seltzer satisfies my 3pm need for something.

Wait – I have the summer Fridays mask and the instructions say massage in for one minute and then *leave on for 10 mins* before rinsing. If you think you’re glowing now, just wait!

Another GF collective question as well – how would you rate the thickness of the fabric? Is it as compressive as OV? I sometimes find OV too tight for yoga.

OMG I HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY MISREADING THE INSTRUCTIONS.

      Dying.

Just updated my description because in this case it totally counts as a mask. HAHA.

I would say that GF is slightly thinner (but not in a way that’s see-through?) It’s similar to OV tech-sweat. Def less compressive.

I love posts like these! That duffel is incredible – I just need to find a way to justify another overnight bag. Bookmarked!

And that water bottle is something I didn’t know I needed, but I definitely need it!

Okay, I think I am confused about the soda stream. It sounds too cheap to be true, are there extra parts or components you need to make fizzy water? I go through so many too and hate all the cans also!

You need a cannister to make it bubbly! It should say which one on the page. It’s the best!
