Today I wanted to highlight twelve Ukrainian designers that I think you will really love. The world is very scary right now: what is happening in Ukraine is unimaginable and heartbreaking. I am not delusional enough to think that shopping from Ukrainian brands and designers is going to save the world (donating and fundraising is obviously far more critical!), but I really loved learning about these brands… especially how they are inspired by Ukraine’s rich heritage and traditions (Vyshyvanka embroidery). I also believe that supporting businesses like these is critical: local businesses are really struggling to stay afloat.
Prior to writing this post, I was only familiar with a few of these brands… I learned a lot doing this research and I hope that you do too! Another thing I wanted to share is via shopping Ukrainian brands on Etsy, all of these shops ship to the US (or you can order downloadable items). I ordered these eggs for both my niece and nephews. Unsure if they will make it by Easter but if/when they do I know they’ll be enjoyed! Along those lines, it probably goes without saying but if you do order from one of these brands, please be patient.

12 Ukrainian Fashion Brands to Know.
Vita Kin
Just the most incredible embroidery. Expensive, but beautiful. The level of detail is absolutely exquisite and highly influenced by the designer’s Ukrainian roots. Many of the styles incorporate Vyshyvanka designs which is a traditional Ukrainian embroidery technique. Each piece is handmade in their workshop in Kyiv. As I mentioned, their pieces are a splurge but they’re just incredible. I love this white embroidered dress and this red one.
Sleeper
I was already a big Sleeper fan (I love their party pajamas) and didn’t realize it was actually a Ukrainian brand, founded by two former fashion editors (Kate Zubarieva and Asya Varetsa). Gorgeous pajamas but also happy, candy-colored dresses (The Atlanta is a favorite of mine, I just can’t decide which color!). Every piece is handmade using sustainable materials and zero waste manufacturing. Plus how cute are these fuzzy shearling slippers!?
Kachorovska
Kachorovska began as a family business and now has over a hundred employees. Their pieces are high quality and beautifully made, but wallet-friendly. (Before you get sticker shock looking at their site, remember that 1 Ukrainian hryvnia equals 0.034 United States Dollar). They also have an atelier program, where you can order a custom piece. I personally love this little purse, this cozy set (top + bottoms), and this tote.
WeAnnaB
WeAnnaB has gorgeous, feminine clothing (I love this little white dress and also this oversized white shirt so much!). Besides making gorgeous clothing, all sewing is done in small batches and remnant fabric pieces are used to create bags (replacing disposable bags). Besides clothing, there’s also an option to support their team as right now, business is on hold.

91 Label Knitwear
91 Label produces gorgeous knitwear (many pieces are hand knit) using interesting techniques and textures.. case in point, I love this sweater; the knit gives it such a gorgeous texture! Their pieces are unique but still very wearable.
Minimalist
This line is actually all (ethically) made in New York City but the designer Tamara Davydova was born and raised in Kyiv. I love that she is donating 30% of all proceeds to benefit Ukrainian relief. All of their pieces are biodegradable and recyclable… but you won’t want to recycle them… they’re elegant and timeless… like this vegan silk tunic dress…!
Paskal
When I saw Paskal’s designs my jaw dropped to the floor. Wow. It is no wonder that the designer Julie Paskal has a background in architecture… these pieces are sculptural… actual works of art! This dress is absolutely incredible (that butterfly applique!) Absolutely dreamy.
Vyshyvanka Shop
This is a stunning little Etsy shop selling beautiful pieces made of all-natural materials. It’s pretty affordable too. Or at least, accessible when you compare it to Paskal or Vita Kin. I am personally smitten with this little white dress and this embroidered blouse. I ordered these wooden eggs for both my niece and nephews as an Easter gift.
Ruslin Baginsky
Founded in 2015, Ruslin Baginsky is a former stylist and his eponymous label is now probably the most famous Ukrainian fashion brand. His hats are inspired by art and Ukrainian national costumes, as well as archival family photos and vintage fashion shoots. They have been worn by a slew of celebrities – truly, anyone and everyone. Each hat is made in Ukraine, I personally really love this one.
Bevza
BEVZA has such unique, architectural pieces that I haven’t seen before but I just love this bright yellow origami inspired clutch, inspired by sailing. Based in Kyiv and established in 2006, the brand is focused on clean, minimalist silhouettes and sharp tailoring.
Must Have
I know this roundup is focusing on small businesses and artisans but I wanted to include Must Have as it’s a brand I didn’t know about. Must Have is actually the first Ukrainian mass market line. They have a really incredible selection of on-trend, fashionable finds at great prices. Naturally, I love this green dress). I have a feeling I’d really love their stores… I hope to be able to visit one someday.
Thank you for this post, Grace! I plan on getting a dress by Ukrainian designer Anna October (such gorgeous pieces!) to wear at our rehearsal dinner.
Oh thank you for sharing; I wasn’t familiar with her!
Love all these and the embroidery. I used to embryos lot when I was young, I’m thinking of starting again. You have to buy the Musthave green dress, it will look perfect on you!
It makes me want to learn embroidery too!!!
I love that you did this round-up and researched everything…such a wonderful, creative and ultimately hopeful idea in a time of fear and hopelessness, and something that really reminds me why I love your site so much. Thoughtful fashion and a generosity of spirit. Thank you, Grace!
Thank you so much, what a nice comment!
Love this post! <3
I’m so glad!!!
Thanks for this roundup! Two notes: please do not refer to it as “the” Ukraine. It is an insult to the Ukrainian people. Here’s a good explainer: https://time.com/12597/the-ukraine-or-ukraine/
Also, please use the Ukrainian spelling Kyiv (not the Russified version of “Kiev”) when referring to the capital. Another good explainer: https://www.atlanticcouncil.org/blogs/ukrainealert/kyiv-not-kiev-why-spelling-matters-in-ukraines-quest-for-an-independent-identity/
Thank you. How embarrassing. I knew about the “the” and thought I proofread correctly, but it slipped through. I did NOT know about spelling it Kyiv and will never make that mistake again. Truly appreciate the note (and the explainers!!) xx
I love this post!!! Thank you for curating and sharing.
I also wish we could go back to straight blog days. IG is frying my brain.
Haha, you and me both! You can always come here, I still post Mon-Sat! xx
Grace, thank you for this great post! We have so many talented people and designers in Ukraine. I want a dress by Sleeper for my wedding once the war is over!
