I’m always looking for a great white lace top (might have a few too many) but am utterly obsessed with this one, from Lovers + Friends. The lace stripes add a unique twist and it also has the coolest keyhole back. (I wore a lacy nude bralette underneath but you could also do a pretty pastel one). And this necklace is a new fave. It’s from a brand called Boho Beads… they’re pretty small but have the cutest pieces, which they actually sell off of their Instagram account! Also… we shot this look after shooting our next hair tutorial… per your request, there’s a messy fishtail braid coming your way next week!
Hope you had a great week. I can’t believe it’s already Friday! I’m really looking forward to this weekend ahead… I’m going to polo with Veuve Clicquot (and a big group of my girlfriends) tomorrow, which is going to be so. much. fun!
PS – My espadrille wedges are now on sale for 40% off (they’re a part of Nordstrom’s Half-Yearly Sale.) They are so incredibly comfortable + come in six colors (including a really fun floral print).

(The coolest art installation is happening in Madison Square Park right now. You can read more about it here, but it was designed by Terista Fernández. It’s a 500 feet long sculpture made of six sections of golden mirror polished disks that hover above you as you walk through the park. Kinda like a mirage.)
This little satchel was last year’s big splurge… I put it away for the winter and was so excited to break it back out for the warmer weather!

I like the overall look of this outfit, and the photos are really fun. I always look forward to your outfit posts. I just think the price of that purse is sinful. I’m not sure what the point is of something like that, when there are tons of cute purses around for a reasonable price. It seems like a flaunting of wealth when there are plenty of people in need in this world. There is nothing wrong with buying a well-made piece, but that price is ridiculous.
Hi Cathleen,
Thank you for commenting. I have been thinking about your comment all day, unsure of how to respond… especially as you’ve always been such a loyal reader in these parts. I really appreciate you coming here and reading my posts and providing your perspective (and sometimes a little constructive criticism when you find it to be appropriate… I always to keep things real & honest around here and value the same from my readers.) I don’t respond to every comment, but I always appreciate them and it makes me happy when someone takes a couple minutes out of their day to comment here.
That said, I don’t really know what to say other than that it is one of my most prized possessions. I will have it forever and someday hopefully pass it down to my daughter or niece. I feel like I’m defending myself now, so I will stop, but I can also see your perspective. It IS expensive, and it was a HUGE splurge. Sinful or a flaunting of wealth, I’m not so sure about… but maybe a little irresponsible, yes. Living in New York, and working in the fashion industry, probably has given me a little bit of a warped perspective, too. As irresponsible as it might be, I am glad that I bought it. At the time I was working over 90 hours a week between the blog and my day job, and now that I’m freelancing, I wouldn’t be able to afford it.
I guess I’ll just agree to disagree. I really hope my occasional splurge purchases don’t discourage you from visiting. I try to mix things up and feature pieces at every price point, and I truly apologize if it came across as “flaunting of wealth.” 🙂 I mean it when I say thanks for your comment. I’d rather have your constructive criticism than a generic “nice outfit, visit my blog” any day!
best,
Grace
Hi, Grace. Thank you for the response. I just mostly hope people will really rethink why they are purchasing items. I think we disagree on this, and there is no need to defend yourself. I understand that this is your blog, which is fashion and lots more. So I get it. I think we have different perspectives on things, which is ok.
I do enjoy your blog, and it certainly does not discourage me from reading. I know you have items at different prices, which I appreciate. I also appreciate seeing a style that do not see where I live. I try to dress similar to your style, and that is what attracts me to your blog. Thank you again for your response.
Beautiful top, love your coat and purse too!
