Weekends at Home…

INDOOR_8Sometimes there is just nothing better than just hanging out at home and having a quite little weekend.  I’ve been really in to cozy days spent on the couch – catching up on blog stuff, sipping my iced coffee, and watching a movie or two once the work stuff is done.  Really, just taking my time with my day…vs. running from here to there, feeling stretched and run down.  I think it’s so important to just take a step back from life whenever you can and savor the little details.  That’s what I did on Sunday, and it felt really nice.

P.S.  I’m wearing my favorite new Old Navy Sweater (it feels like cashmere, no joke) and my favorite Paige Jeans.  I’m really digging all white right now.. this look is one of my go-to’s!

I’m reading Sheryl Sandberg’s book, Lean In right now.  I wouldn’t necessarily call myself a feminist, but her book has raised a lot of points I really hadn’t thought of.  I know I personally have a hard time balancing everything and often feel like a fraud/not qualified to be doing all the things I do.  So far, her book has been both refreshing, inspiring, and downright helpful.  I encourage you all to read it if you have time… I can’t say enough good things.  Her book has gotten a lot of criticism in the media, but I think she speaks from the heart and has a lot of really great points.

Note:  This post is not sponsored by Grady’s Cold Brew, but I have to tell you how much I love it!  It is THE BEST iced coffee… every two weeks I get six bottles delivered to my apartment… it’s my favorite treat!

I’m so glad you’re reading Lean In! Also, digging the all-white look at home. My at-home look is decidedly less glamourous (giant Adidas trackies and some sports t-shirt), and my home looks like a disaster. Eek.

where do i even begin?! first of all, you are so cute! i love the all white ensemble – especially the nails 🙂 And I’m glad you recommended “Lean In”. I’ve heard about it, but wasn’t sure it was worth it or not. Not sure what’s up with all the criticism she’s getting. And I’m always unsure about bottled iced coffee..for some reason it always has a funky taste to it. But I love the packaging of this one. I’ll have to try it out! Hope you have a lovely day! xo

This post is not fair on a Wednesday! It makes me crave the weekend. Like you, I love my slow weekend days, where I can catch up on blog stuff, take a nap, and cuddle with my guy and fur baby. Except, I’m definitely not looking as cute as you when I do it! Normally pajamas and a messy bun are involved 😉

Love these photos! I just finished lean in and marked about half of the pages… Lots to think about! I’m curious to see if you will change your thoughts on being a feminist when you get to her explanation in the book- Sheryl argues (and I’ve always believed) that a feminist is simply someone who believes in equal rights for men and women.

I read your blog a lot and love your sense of style, but I am confused as to why you wouldn’t call yourself a feminist. A feminist is someone who believes that women should have rights equal to men. Why would you not want to align yourself with this? I am not trying to annoying, but I have seen this a lot lately with women our age and am wondering if I missed the negative connotation to this word…

      Hi Andrea,
Thanks for your comment. Truth be told, sometimes I write these things forgetting that people actually read my blog. I don’t know what it is, I just don’t love the word… I completely believe women to be equal to men and I know my answer is not very helpful. Maybe the answer here is that yeah, I guess I’m a feminist… I just hate the word!
