Weekend Reading // Something Different.

Hi from Cuba! As I’m mostly without WiFi this week (I think – I’ve scheduled this post ahead of time!!) we are doing something different for this week’s edition of weekend reading… I thought it would be fun to share a list of the sites I never miss a post from. Here are my favorites in both the lifestyle and fashion spaces. This is definitely something that’s always changing and I have a lot of other sites that I read every week (especially my close girlfriends) but these are the sites that I’m relating to/most inspired by most right now. What are the blogs you read every day/ every week? I’d love to know in the comments!!! In the meantime, I hope you guys are having a great weekend. I’ll have a new post for you on Monday morning and then I’m back in the US on Monday night!

Lifestyle //

Atelier Doré – I never miss a post. Garance is such an incredible writer and person, and everyone she’s brought on to help grow the site has been an amazing addition. I read (and savor) every.single.post on their site.

Victoria McGinley – Victoria is also my web designer and very busy with her design business, so she only blogs maybe once or twice a week but it’s always something good… be it a beautifully designed shopping round-up, a recipe, a playlist (she is my music guru!), or a more personal essay. It’s slow blogging in the best way possible.

The Skinny Confidential – I love Lauryn’s content because every time I visit TSC I wind up with some bit of knowledge I didn’t have before. Like me, she’s suuuper into skincare and also constantly testing and trying every new product under the sun so I love that. I learned about my beloved Pillow Talk lipstick from her and also just ordered this cleanser. I feel like she’s my West Coast, more glamorous/edgy/Kardashian-esque soul sister – we are so different but have a lot of common interests. Also I just LOVE her and Michael’s podcast.

Hitha on the Go – Hitha is a friend of mine and someone who has done a really good job with her content this year. It’s not that I didn’t love her blog before but it’s gotten even better this year. Everything she posts really resonates with me – even the motherhood stuff which is rare for me – mostly because she writes from the perspective of a busy New York woman who cares about staying informed + what’s going on in the world.

Because I’m Addicted – I love all of Geri’s wellness content. Her posts are short and sweet and always inspire me to be a little better to myself.

Meg Biram – Meg’s content is always really fresh and relatable. I trust everything she recommends and her recent post on travel anxiety was spot on for me (I’m the exact same) and anytime she writes about anything beauty-related I’m all ears as she puts a lot of research into her posts.

A Cup of Jo – There’s something so oddly… calming and soothing (?) about going to Joanna’s site? And when I go there I don’t know what I’m going to get but it’s always something good.

Fashion //

Coveteur – I’ve been a massive fan since it launched (those. closets!) but I love how they’ve more recently expanded into other categories; beauty, interiors, more news-y stuff, etc.

The Fashion Magpie – I just love how Jen writes and it helps that we have similar taste in both books + frivolous things (pretty bags, shoes, dresses, etc!)

Atlantic-Pacific – Blair just has the best style. I can’t wear most of the things she posts but visiting her site always leaves me feeling inspired and happy (so much color)!

Brooklyn Blonde – Love Helena’s classic, sophisticated style (no one wears jeans and a blazer better), and her skincare recommendations are always spot on. We are the exact same age (I am one day older!) and every time I see her we bond over skincare.

Damsel in Dior – Jacey has great style but always finds really cool pieces that are interesting yet still classic. I found my rattan slides from her blog. She’s always traveling somewhere glamorous and her Youtube Channel is one of my favorites.

See Anna Jane – I love Anna’s real girl style! We have very similar taste and I tend to want every single outfit she posts.

Sequins & Stripes – Liz is a friend and her blog has been a favorite for years. In all honesty, a lot of bloggers lose me when they have kids (the kids take over, and of course kids are cute and all but I’m here for the clothes!) but Liz has managed to share her kids in a cute way that isn’t too much. We have very similar taste in clothes which also helps.

Man Repeller – Man Repeller’s content has just been so good. It’s always fresh and interesting, they show outfits on regular girls of all shapes and sizes, and it’s just really smart!

This Time Tomorrow – Krystal has amazing style. I can’t pull off most of what she wears but every time I visit her site I feel inspired. She’s a great writer and always has something interesting to say. And as a fellow New York gal I love seeing what she’s up to – it’s usually something fun!

And a few fun shopping finds from this week…

  • This body mask/scrub duo is amazing, especially as a self-tanner prep. Leaves skin SO soft.
  • I did quite a bit of shopping before I left. Why does a trip make you feel like you need all new clothes? I got this tie-front blouse, this striped blazer (the fit is so good and it’s a great price), this fun net bag, this button up camisole, and this fun little headband.
  • I am thinking about polo. I have VIP tickets to the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic when I’m back and need a dress. Ok I don’t need one but I want one. I didn’t really have time to think about it before I left but this one is a top contender. If you’ve seen any really amazing dresses out there that would be right for polo, let me know in the comments!
  • Also purchased this week – this palm print kaftan… l-o-v-e!
  • These sandals are my essence and I obviously need them. (I ordered them.)

I’ll start off by saying I love your blog. I follow you on Bloglovin’ and unlike many other blogs I click on your posts all of the time when I see them in my feed! <3 I like what you did with Weekend Reading this week as it's always nice to know what is inspiring the people I'm inspired by. For me I love http://www.gofitjo.com. I follow her on Bloglovin' and Instagram and her posts always give me a boost of inspiration and confidence because they are so vulnerable and real; she's awesome! I follow http://www.galmeetsglam.com too. Her fashion sense is different than mine but it is beautiful and she lives in Charleston, South Carolina so all of her photos are gorgeous. http://Www.jessannkirby.com is also a favourite. Jess lives in New England which I am in LOVE with so her posts are always inspiring my next trip. She also shares awesome links and has personal posts I can relate to. I could go on for a while but I will just share one more! http://Www.cupcakesandcashmere.com is a favourite as it was the first blog I started following regularly. Emily and her team live in LA which I find a fascinating place and over the years the content has gotten better and better. I love seeing different blogs evolve as it encourages me to as well. Keep up the awesome work on your blog!! 🙂

When I started reading blogs back in my college days, I would always visit This Time Tomorrow. I’ve been thinking of that blog for months and couldn’t remember the name. So thank you! Hope you’re enjoying Cuba!
