Weekend Reading

 nyfw

Annnd it’s fashion week!  I’m bopping around town and hitting up a few of my favorite shows, but mostly just excited to see friends who are here from out of town {and catch up on sleep + workouts…. this week was a busy one and I failed miserably in both departments!}  Alas, this week was really fun.  I had BaubleBar’s third year anniversary party {at Los Feliz, one of my faves}, got a massage at the Trump Soho {thanks to Arm & Hammer}, celebrated a close friend’s 35th birthday {at Cafe Mogador – so, so good}, and went to events/previews for Tata Harper, Lulu Frost, and Kate Spade.  I ended the week with fun cocktails and Trina Turk last night.  This weekend will be a bit more low key – at least I hope!

I love the new Waterlogue App. It takes your photos and turns ’em into beautiful watercolor “paintings.” Pretty neat.

…Because I always love discovering new {to me} blogs… I met Janelle from Girls Off Fifth this week and am in love with her style.

I hate to use the word “need” when discussing something so frivolous, but I might need these sandals for Spring.

How many spaces are you supposed to put after a sentence? The answer will surprise you…. {or at least it surprised me.} My mind has been blown and now I’m training myself to only use one after reading this.

I love this little striped jacket {and that it is under $100!}

Have you seen BaubleBar x Anthropologie yet?  A bunch of new styles launched last week and they are so so great.

My friend Christina has a food blog, where she documents her culinary adventures around the city. If you live in Manhattan, I highly recommend checking it out!

This had me crying laughing… so funny.

These DIY jeweled ribbon bracelets are pretty great!

Yum: Two yummy Valentine’s Day cocktails.

The weather here has been horrendous, so I really liked Alicia’s refreshing mint look.

The shoulder detailing on this tee is just too good.

My sister was on Design Sponge {again, NBD} and I loved this ten second tour of her studio!

These boots are on my wish list right now – I love the perforation.

In honor of Valentine’s Day, Lemon Stripes is offering 15% off everything, sitewide! Just use code SELFLOVE15

Lastly, I got a Jawbone UP fitness bracelet!  I’m only on day two but will report back.  Kind of obsessed with it so far.

I love the Jawbone Up! I’ve had my band for about a year now. I find it really helpful to see how much I’ve been sleeping and setting the idle alert so I get up from my desk during the day.

So excited about the Anthro X Bauble Bar collaboration! I usually have to “window shop” Anthro’s jewelry box. With the team up, I’m able to snag myself something fabulous:) Happy weekend!

I cant believe anyone uses two spaces, my whole life I thought the only other option was no spaces(reserved for lazy people lol). I’m gonna start paying more attention to see if any blogs I read make the same mistake

Wow, I’ve always only put 1 space! I didn’t even realize that people write differently, but now I’m noticing the two spaces. I guess it does look clean? Who knows. I guess as long as you’re getting your message across it works right?? I also love, love, love the waterlogue app! I even put some of my watercolors on my blog: http://beautyandsass.com/2014/01/17/life-and-travels-in-watercolor/
