Weekend Reading

 garance

Happy Weekend!  To be honest I felt sad a lot this week.  I think in part it was the fact that my little mini-vacation was over and done with.  Know how you look forward to something for so long, and then it’s over?  It sounds a bit spoiled… but sometimes I get a little down in the dumps when something I’ve been looking forward to for so long is over and done with.  Also, this was my fourth time in Ireland, it was my first time alone – so the trip brought back old memories.  I suppose it’s only natural, and I tell myself I’m making happy new memories, but its still a little bit hard.  So I was a little sad this week.  But it was a fun, busy week.  I worked out a lot.  {…more on that tomorrow – I’m going to start a little column over here about my fitness adventures.}  I also spoke on a panel about Tumblr, went to a fun little event with Veuve Clicquot} and saw friends.  But now I’m tired and ready for the weekend!

I loved these two bundled up cozy looks from Helena and Caroline.

I thought this post from Wit + Delight about being kinder towards other women was spot on.

Jacey got a redesign… and it looks amazing!

This Theory blazer {in white} is very high on my shopping list right now.

In other shopping news, I’d been wanting a full black skirt but didn’t want to splurge on the Tibi one.  I saw this one on Courtney and ordered immediately!  I still can’t believe it was only $59.

How cute is Kristen – and this fun mug DIY!?

All this working out has me hungry.  I am dying to make this mushroom risotto!

Everyone should read this post.  Six simple tips to keep you consistently happy every day.

Forever 21 has some (shockingly) really cute things right now.  I picked up two dresses for fashion week… this brocade one and this blue one.

And I picked up this beanie in a few different colors.  It’s pretty perfect – nice and slouchy!

As if you needed a reason to love Linda Rodin any more.

Anna Kendrick’s superbowl commercial – too funny!

A little fashion inspiration… 7 ways to reinvent a gray sweater.

I want some boyfriend chinos for Spring… these are pretty perfect.

My sister had a really cool DIY on her blog this week… gold leaf shells.

I love these mismatched earrings.

Coming home from traveling is really hard for me too. I got home after two weeks abroad over Christmas and burst into tears when I realized my held mail had not yet been delivered (dramatic, much?). The best cure: plan the next trip!

I felt similarly when I went back to San Francisco by myself. I remembered old memories, but I felt good creating new ones and adventurous by myself. There were moments that I was sad, but it’s okay.
