Weekend Reading

tulum

I got home from Mexico late last night.  It was exactly what I needed, though the only regret I have is that I didn’t spend the entire time in Tulum.  Tulum, Tulum, Tulum… I don’t even know where to begin. (I’ll try, this week, to show you its glory.)  Usually I feel ready to go on to the next thing after three or four days but I could have stayed for weeks.  Strolling up and down the powdery white beaches, drinking fresh juice every morning and taking lots of naps in the sun…  but alas, real life calls.  I’m a bit of a mess, albeit a happy mess.  My pedicure is nearly entirely chipped off and I will probably need an entire bottle of conditioner to get the knots out of my hair.  Both are side effects from too many walks on the beach and too much time playing in the waves… but really, is there such a thing as too much of either of those things?

My weekend plans include brunch with Victoria, happy hour with Jacey, a fun dinner with two close girlfriends, and another brunch  with gal pals tomorrow.  Not a bad way to get back into the swing of things.

I only have three links for you this week… sorry about that.  But oh, they are good ones!

These photos capture Tulum – and how magical it is – better than I ever could.  {They are also the driving force behind my next trip here… I really wish I saw the Cenotes!}

You know I love a good I can’t get this (shockingly pink) calf hair satchel from Philip Lim out of my head.  Such a fun pop of color.

This post from Capitol Hill Style literally made me cry. Guys.. don’t shrink.

    Tulum was the first city in Mexico that my husband & I “hopped on a bus” from Cancun with a couple we met from Canada and forever changed our traveling and exploring opportunities when staying in any country we visit!! It is profound and never leaves you!! Welcome home!

    Grace, it sounds like you came back from Mexico a changed woman. I read Capitol Hill’s post about shrinking and I guess it’s time to put pen to paper to a friend who has been less than.

    I am so glad you had such a good time in Mexico!! I only spent a short day in Tulum, although the beach was gorgeous where we were, too (just outside Playa Del Carmen on Maroma Beach). I never thought I’d be someone to like all-inclusive/resort style vacations over, say, a jaunt to Paris, but it was so beautiful, peaceful and exactly what I needed this summer. I’m also dying to go to the cenotes-hopefully next time (with a LOT more time in Tulum!!)
