Weekend Reading 6.18.22
top // skirt // sunglasses // earrings

Happy weekend! This weekend, I don’t have much planned besides a sweet 5 year old’s birthday party, Father’s Day with the fam, and a yoga class tomorrow night. I head to LA on Wednesday so it will be a shorter week here so I will probably do a bunch of work today and tomorrow to get ahead. This week’s highlight was an incredible Omakase sushi feast at Sushi Wa. This is far and away the best sushi I have had in Charleston. It was epic. I am a total sushi fiend and was just so happy afterward.

Weekend Reading, 6.18.22

Resy put together a great guide to the best women-led restaurants in Charleston.

If you have a summer event or wedding, buy this dress! I am torn between the yellow and green, both are lovely.

Juneteenth is on Sunday. This is the day that symbolizes freedom for Black people in the U.S. Here are some podcasts about its history, but also: what to watch to celebrate it.

How pretty is this green + white top? I’d wear it with high waisted shorts for a date.

Katie’s Palm Beach condo is INCREDIBLE.

I really wanted a good pair of linen pants but they were sold out everywhere I looked! My friend Carly swears by this J.Crew pair. I ordered in two sizes and will report back upon arrival.

How to reconnect with an old friend.

The sleeves on this top are just so pretty. Very into this one.

These Maine bungalows… just whoa.

A giant guide to pronouns and why they matter (honestly, this is great to send parents, my parents are pretty forward thinking but struggle and this is helpful!)

I snagged these Tibi leather shorts on sale this week and looove them.

10 books that celebrate dads.

Love this pretty pearl ponytail holder.

23 Black designers you should know about!

Cup of Jo tackled some fun beauty trends in a very accessible way.

Another fun easy smocked dress.

Love the yellow.

This has to be one of the more bizarre things I read this week!

Really like this breezy day dress (my fav is the moss color).

Healthy dinner ideas.

Need to try this homemade veggie burger recipe.

I absolutely loved this very maximalist 600 square foot apartment. So creative and just plain fun!

These $40 slides are gorgeous and a great price.

This was a fun read… remember Suri’s burn book!?

Dreaming of vacation + dining at Louis Vuitton’s new Saint Tropez restaurant… wow!

I want everything in Tuckernuck’s new beach shop, especially this kaftan.

Okay I kind of love this mint green kitchen.

I love this candle so much and it is from a cool Black-owned biz in New York.

Yum, Jess’s mussels recipe looks incredible.

Looks like it’s time to plan a trip to Miami?

This new Hermes exhibit looks killer.

Extremely into these coastal grandmother linen trousers.

Love this: we need rituals, not routines.

I look forward to visiting this new museum in Charleston.

Ordered this week: this fun smocked Amazon blouse. I love all the colors.

The Matilda musical looks fun (loved this book as a kid!).

I was in need of a good pair of classic black cigarette pants (wardrobe hole!). A girlfriend suggested these and they are perfection.

This Mexico City Air BnB looks incredible.

Now THIS would be my kind of wedding cake.

So glad you got the ad situation straightened out and you are going to had a great night and are going to have a lovely week . I’ve bought enough pretty things for now and learned a whole lot from your honest posts this week. So today just like the snail, I’m taking a break, slowing down to breathe and be sad and happy and celebrate as I look back on my son Jeff’s life and Birthday today in Heaven .

As a non-American, that LARPing article was very entertaining / bizarre. Loved it.

I love and look forward to these posts – they are the best that I read all week! Cannot emphasize your banana republic one shoulder dress anymore, I wore it to a wedding this month and it was incredible! So comfortable, fun to dance in, and beautiful quality.

Nit sure if they have them this year/in stock, but I have two pairs of washable linen pants from Old Navy that look just like the J crew ones for a fraction of the price! One pair is three years old and still looks great.
