The Ocean View Club - Weekend Reading 5.25.24
The Ocean View Club in Harbour Island

Happy weekend, friends. It is a happy weekend indeed. You are probably tired of hearing my excitement about Spoleto but here we are. I’m going to the Romeo & Juliet ballet today, a party this evening, Cassette Roulette tomorrow night… I could go on. It’s truly the best time to be in Charleston. Whatever you’re up to, I hope your weekend is wonderful. I’m taking Monday off to spend time with my family, be back on Tuesday with a new post (we’re tackling jelly shoe styling!). Xo

Really enjoy your content! Links to NYT articles don’t work for those of us who are not subscribed to the NYT.

I know, unfortunately a lot of content is paywalled these days. I wish that wasn’t the case and try to use gift links when I can but I only get 5 a month.

Does your local library offer free NYT access? If not, my local library does here in Charlotte, and they have a non-resident card available for $45 per year (much cheaper than a NYT subscription and comes with all sorts of other digital access!).

I love this week’s links and the Saturday posts in general! It’s so relaxing to read them while drinking coffee when everyone else I live with is still sleeping. Thanks for posting these.

Couldn’t read the three that I wanted to read. Not a subscriber to any of them.
    Found some great stuff though!

Eric on Netflix looks amazing. I’ll watch anything with Gabby Hoffman.

I’m not so in to thrillers, but the list seems fun for summer! I’m not sure how I found you – Substack I think? When I was going down a High Sport pant path even though if I spent $800 on a pair of pants my husband would either divorce me or put me in a psychiatric hospital. Anyway, I have LOVED your book suggestions/reviews/comments/links. Thank you!

I own a small independent gift and home decor shop and sometimes your Amazon suggestions make me cringe because I know they are from third party distributors. I encourage everyone to seek out your community’s local shops – items curated by a real person or small team. You can touch, feel, smell and hopefully you find shops that take care to offer quality products so that value is seen in shopping small.

Hi Grace! I would love your suggestions on special champagne flutes. My best friend is marrying his partner in a few short weeks and I would love to find a special gift.
    Thank you!

I bought that Amazon beaded pearl necklace back in April along with a couple of other seed bead necklaces to layer during the summer and it is so cute. I recently just bought another similar one that has several more pearls on it because I think the combo of colorful beads and pearls is so much fun and a little more elevated. I’m not sure why but I just want to wear tons of color this summer (I also recently bought the AB Tinted Lip Balm in the pink shade after reading about it here, and I love it!)

And I love that you love the Bader lip balm; it is a really great product!
